There is a huge market if only somebody would start manufacturing them.

I am always on the lookout for tiny home solutions under $100,000 complete with land and water/sewer/electricity.

Amazon has some kit homes at right around $20,000. Would all of the parts be in the shipment?

Boxable looks good, only partial assembly. No matter what they tell you - you must be willing to buy 50 of them to get an order in which stinks. I need just one and they probably will not build it for me.

At my age how long would it take me to assemble it? I'd have to hire a crew to assemble whatever I bought.

I have no idea on the current ones.

I thought the Sears ones would be an interesting post as I have see a few of them over the years.

I love these vintage Sears catalog things. Thank you! Cornell Publications reprints outdoor and gun snd knife based catalogs from the 1800s to 1980s or 1990s.

Ankerson and Naperville do you think those pre fab houses were very sturdy?

I have a reprinted Sears Roebuck catalog from the 1908 1910 period and they sold stag handled hunting knives for only a couple of dollars and lock blade folding knives for like 25 cents and some were priced by the dozen. USA made.

A prefab home usually means far better quality, all things being equal(the same components). They cut and assemble some of the walls, floors and roof components in jigs that are accurate to the 1/4 inch.

Fantastic story on the home!

Sorry about the power steering. I think Sept 10th and 11th are a bad omen.

Beautiful house, MG2. My own house was made by Jim Walters Homes back in 1988.

Here is another website devoted to Sears and other older "kit" homes:
