hello friends! i am new to the spyderco family, and to knives in general. these knives are just a portion of the collection that my boyfriend and his family own. only the top two are made by a different manufacturer! i was a little bored and decided to put the knives in order by height i’m enjoying all there is to learn about these guys! from blade shapes to jimping, all the ergonomics! i love the names of so many of them! like the byrd knives, the ladybug and the dragonfly (the dragonfly knife is just gorgeous!!) my favorite knife is the caly 3! it fits perfectly in my paw.
happy spydering !
Looks like a very cool collection. Welcome aboard! :-)

I feel your pain! I once forgot my Waterway and K04 SE at a holiday cabin. I phoned the staff the next morning, and they found the K04 SE, but somehow the Waterway disappeared mysteriously overnight, never to be seen again by a living soul...
I eventually replaced it.
Hope you found your Waterway by now!

It did resurface eventually. I think I made a post about it, but don’t remember in which thread. Found it in a very secure but unlikely place, so it took me a good while but there was never a risk of permanent loss. Very relieved to finally have it back in the drawer
The Golden plant must be burning through abrasive belts at the rate they are churning out the 15v! It's pretty impressive how much of it they're working with and the high quality of the product with such challenging materials. Huge thanks and kudos to all those involved!
I've been carrying my Manix 2LW at work since I got it. It is still scary sharp. Now I just got in an order for a G10 N5. Super excited for this one too!
As I mentioned in the 'what's in the mail' thread, I got my 15v Native 5 and it is sweet. Something I noticed on closer inspection is that there are milling lines still visible on the swedge. They are tidy and consistent. They don't appear on my N5 Salts. I'll have to check the Rex45 and Spy27.
I think it's cool and seems to be a manufacturing artifact still visible after stonewashing, seems like more evidence of the difficulty of working and finishing a very hard, super high carbide steel.
Cool stuff. Thanks Spyderco. Pics another time, poor signal out in the rain forest.
Just thought this was cool so I decided to share it with the group. I was on eBay looking at knives, and found this gem of a folder made by Moki for beretta;
the handle design instantly reminded me of the spyderco stretch, as you can see the shapes are pretty similar.
And just thought man, if they took the og stretch and did the classic black linen micarta and ss pins on it, it would make for such a great version of the knife. The stretch is one of my favorite spyderco folders, ergonomically. And contoured polished micarta feels great in the hand, while looking classic and beautiful. Anyone else agree?
What say you @sal

Thanks MG, I know the days of classy old school Moki spyderco knives are much of the past but I can still dream. It’s interesting to me how much this beretta folder resembles the stretch. I wouldn’t go as far as to say they stole sals design here, but I do think they most likely “borrowed inspiration” from the stretch. That’s why I was interested in knowing sals thoughts on the knife and if he knew any thing about the design in relation to the stretch.
