Thanx fellows.

The clip mod isn't really necessary but I like it better than the half hitched loop of the lanyard just around the clip itself.

Really somewhat disappointed in the AWT scales for the Manix 2XL. They just don't compare to the aggressive texture you can option for on the Manix 2 on the lightweight version. Those are awesome for me, and these for the Manix 2XL will be replaced with the aggressive texture soon as they are available.

When I ordered these scales for the Manix 2XL, I didn't know they have such a lack of texture. They basically have the look of the texture, you just don't feel it so much. Thanks again for the compliments guys.

Three Mules here Elmax, K294 and the M398. Not a really good pic of these, the sun is just out like a Lazer right now and I was taking a break...

Manix2XL with burnt bronze AWT - scales and modified double stacked clip. Other than the scales in the original texture and not the new aggressive texture they have as an option in only the Manix 2 LW; this knife is pretty awesome.

Soon as the new aggressive scales are available for the Manix 2XL, Jeb is going to have a couple sets of those and in the burnt bronze cerakote finish. I really love this color...

Just a little closer view of the different textures on these AWT scales. I shot these side by side. I really love the aggressive texture on the lightweight Manix2, they really made this knife for me, as I just didn't care for the knife without the liners.

Now as for the Manix 2XL, heck I just love the size and shape of this knife plain and simple. Doesn't matter what scales on this knife. Now I will say soon as AWT comes out with their aggressive texture for the Manix 2XL I will be getting at least one set of them maybe a couple.

They most certainly will be in this Burnt Bronze cerakote color. I know the anodized finish is more durable but I just love this color. And yes I am trolling on a new 1911 - 45acp in the same finished color to match.

That only leaves a set of these AWT scales for my Police4 's, they ever make those I will have some of those as well. Even if they eliminate the lanyard hole, heck I got that all figured out and putting the tail on my knife won't be a problem lol...

#41 - Clip Modification

I took the oem spoon clip and stacked a cut-off deep carry clip to put a dedicated lanyard hole in these new AWT scales that eliminated the lanyard hole all together. More on these scales later...

Was going to do this mod first on the Yojumbo of mine, but decided to do this first to my Manix 2XL with these AWT scales, since this knife will see more pocket time.

This mod works better than simply wrapping the lanyard loop around the oem clip as it just slides up and down the clip without this double stacked clip setup...

Nice thread Jeb! Somehow I just discovered it now...

I'm not much of a lanyard guy, but I like your creative addition of a lanyard hole! 👍

Thanks for the comments. I grew up with always having a lanyard, so I just got to have one lol...

I don't do much on this thread and here lately even less. Been working like a dog around the house on these honey do projects lol.

I did buy a new MT 40 HIC Mule yesterday, so I can finally check out this ceramic knife thing lol... looking quite forward to that.

Hopefully it won't end up like my K294 Mule did, I no sooner got it and honed that out to 15 dps and my mother con'd me out of it lol... she loves it and she is almost 90. So how do you say no to your mother for wanting a Mule.

Manix 2 Modified

Took the mint green frcp scales off and installed AWT burnt bronze aggressive scales in their place. I also removed the stock ball cage off and installed a slotted Black Flytanium Titanium ball cage in this knife.

Have not honed it at this point yet, but will get this profiled to 15 dps soon. It's going in the right front pocket right away lol... have a look see.

Two lightweight Manix2 's, one that is in MagnaCut and one in M4, both in burnt bronze AWT - Aggressive texture scales. One Manix 2XL in M4 in burnt bronze AWT - Original texture scales.

Thanks Dan,

I didn't care for the mint color, and I like green lol. Just not that color of green, plus I don't really like the lightweight Manix2 that are without liners either.

So, these aggressive scales that AWT have are awesome. I even did some modifications to a slotted Titanium ball cage to fit this knife, cause I like the feel of the Titanium better than the plastic.

I bought three of them and will get around to installing those in my other two Manix knives that are with the AWT scales eventually lol...

But bottom line, I really like the Manix knives and for sure the bigger XL model. Really looking forward to the Manix 2XL Salt all black going to be a must have lol.
