I've missed several that I've seen on ebay for incredible prices, but just couldn't justify the expenditure at the time. But I always tell myself that there will always be another one that comes up again. This week a missed a Cru-Wear Manix 2 XL. It sold for $157

I've missed several that I've seen on ebay for incredible prices, but just couldn't justify the expenditure at the time. But I always tell myself that there will always be another one that comes up again. This week a missed a Cru-Wear Manix 2 XL. It sold for $157

I have one of those that I use for work (the KC exclusive with smooth black G10 scales). I love it for when I don’t want a fixed blade on my belt for whatever reason. I’ve been debating picking up the Cru-carta one as I love a micarta handle, but it seems a little wasteful when I have a perfectly serviceable one already. Good luck finding one

Several years ago, I got the Knife Works 204P Military. It only cost $175. As soon as I picked it up, my immediate reaction was that it was "way too big," and I sent it back. Boy do I regret that. Great looking knife in some beautiful scales. Oh well.

JD smith in good but used condition - sold for $90. I set an alarm, on the right day on the wrong month!

REC PM2 for $180. Just missed the auction end

Centofante 4 for $120 a while ago.

(But to counter the gloom, I've scored some great deals this year)

Dragonfly H2 for $60
Temperance 2 VG10/Micarta for $200
Native Chief Jade/M4-DLC for $200

But the ones I missed still haunt me sometimes

Never really missed grails but I have been burned twice on a model from another brand, taking chances on eBay and I got scammed both times but did manage to get my money back.

Stumbled across this JD at a local gun shop, excellent condition, $100 bill out the door, absolutely hated it! I traded it the very next week at a gun show to a vendor I’ve dealt with many times for a Gayle Bradley 1, couldn’t wait to get rid of it! But, it is a good looking knife!

For me it was the Super Blue Endura. I was able to buy one, but the blade severely warped. I contacted support and sent it back to Spyderco. Unfortunately they didn't have any more in stock. They took care of me and gave me credit, but no Super Blue Endura for me.

I passed up a chance to buy a new Burch Chubby because it cost more than what I was comfortable spending at the time. If I knew then that a new Shaman would cost the same amount today as that Chubby, I would have snapped it up right away.

I also missed a complete set of Hossom fixed blades that someone was selling because I was busy at work and didn't see his sale post until four hours later. By then the whole set was gone.

These knives aren't grails per se, just models that would have been nice to add to the collection.

There were both a LNIB Hungarian and a LNIB KW 204p Military available for about $150 each a couple of years ago. They really tempted me, and I’ve kicked myself ever since.

I’d like to have gotten the 20CV Kapara as well.

I wish I had not sold my grey G10 Cru-wear Military.

I have found some fair-good deals on there, and their description of the condition is usually pretty accurate. AZCK is where I found a Native Chief CF/S90V Sprint in new condition - I missed those when they were released. I'm a little leary of eBay and the possibility of getting a fake, but I have bought some non-Spyderco knives on there that I was very familiar with so I thought I could probably spot a fake.

Had a guy trying to move a Spyderco collection as part of an estate if I remember correctly. He had a BNIB Rubico for $240 and Magnitude for $200 or $425 for both.

They would have been more of collector knives, $425 is a lot of money and I found the guy on Facebook so I was a bit afraid of a scam. I really did not want to spend $425 for knives that would just sit in a box at the time. But those would have been two great knives for the money and I regret not taking the chance.

I fell asleep before the auction ending for an RIL Military. I'd never carry it over the standard G-10 due to the weight, but I wanted one.

Stopped by SMKW with the wife on the way back to Ft. Campbell. Saw a Lil'Temperence SE for sale at a little less than the usual MSRP because it was discontinued. Passed because it was SE and I wanted PE.

Passed on getting the C27 Jess Horn when it first came out because "That's a lot of $$$ for an old school looking lock-back..."

Wished I'd have grabbed a couple more of the original Kiwi.

Starting to regret not picking up a Firefly. Wasn't into small folders at the time, and liner-locks are my least favorite lock, but it would make a good work EDC.

I've been fortunate that for most of the missed knives I've regretted, Spyderco has eventually released something that made me forget the regret.

Missed the DLT Cruwear Endela... got a PD#1 Endela instead.
Only bought a Delica in Hap40, realized after they were mostly gone an Endura would've been good too... got a K390 Endura and found I like that steel better anyway.
Wished I never sold my CF/M390 Millie... holy cow, I like the Millie 2 so much more I don't regret any missed
OG Millies anymore. 15V is icing.
