Re: 4V DLC Dodo comes out in a week
I was all lathered up to get online and snag one of these as soon as they went live. It started off with 625 available and this morning the St. Nick's website is still saying that 595 are available. Better safe than sorry, though! I definitely regret selling the two I used to have. I'm looking forward to having one back in my collection.
Re: 4V DLC Dodo comes out in a week
I doubt that the 625/595 numbers reflect more than a discrepancy in the total number produced.
Good news is that this one is still available and folks that want one don’t have to get lucky later to find one listed at MAP on BF or pay scalpers prices on eBay.
I grabbed one for my son and I. He loves my BHQ one for opening stock at his job but can’t be bothered to clean tape off his current carry YoJimbo I gifted him let alone take care of uncoated M4. This DLC 4V should be much easier to take care of for him.
Thanks to St Nicks Knives for ordering this blast from the past!

Difference between 625 and 575 is in 2 bundles, 25 each. They are offering two different bundles. So you cant see numeber remaining.

I had an orange S30V Dodo sprint many moons ago. It is a cool little knife with a lot of character, but it has a very narrow focus. It will likely be the most charismatic package opener in your collection.

I don't know how St.Nick's managed to extract such performance from the postal service, but mine arrived this morning as well.
Re: 4V DLC Dodo comes out in a week
I didn't end up getting one of these. So the run of buying all the SNK exclusives is over. I just can't justify buying knives like this just because and then they sit in a drawer. The Dodo has never really interested me either and the money is better spent on my other hobbies. There might be another SNK exclusive that comes along that I'll want but I'm good with sitting on what I have for the time being
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Re: 4V DLC Dodo comes out in a week
I also haven't pulled the trigger on this one.
I have never liked Spyderco's 50/50 forward choil, and even on knives like the Native 5 or Para 3, I am more comfortable keeping all my fingers behind the choil.
As such, the two pronounced finger grooves on the Dodo make it a non-starter for me. But if these are still available in a week or two, who knows... by then I might have made a rough cardboard mockup to gain a better idea of how the handle feels.

That's a very useful comparison, and somewhat explains why vivi started a thread about a small knife.Brock O Lee wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 3:05 amI had an orange S30V Dodo sprint many moons ago. I received mine today. In Denmark.
The Dodo is one of my favorite designs!

Re: 4V DLC Dodo comes out in a week
I got around to making a cardboard mockup a few days ago, and found that the Dodo fits my hand well.
Looking forward to getting an actual one in a couple of weeks.
These are still in stock by the way.

Re: 4V DLC Dodo comes out in a week
I’m loving my Dodo. It has much smoother lock action than the orange or carbon fiber Dodo sprints I once had.
I also noticed it matches my Klein Tools flush cutter perfectly. Who knew that Klein made St. Nick’s exclusives too?

Re: 4V DLC Dodo comes out in a week
I just showed a friend of mine my new Dodo. He had never seen one before, and when he opened it up he stared at the short little blade for a full minute. Then he said "it must have been cold outside". I just about died laughing.

Re: 4V DLC Dodo comes out in a week
I've had the Dodo for five days, and I am growing to like it.
Mine had a slight burr on one side when it arrived, but I was able to smoothen things out with some sandpaper and the Sharpmaker.
It is comfortable in hand and in pocket. It cuts much better after I touched it up.
These are still available from SNK last I checked.
