That knife definitely looks legit. I would have no second thoughts about buying it

I've bought from that seller before with no issues. And looking at his other listings, it looks like he's a certified knife aficionado. Folks like that can generally be trusted to be straightforward with their transactions. That's the kind of eBay seller that you want to do business with.

There's an antique mall down the road from where I live. One of the vendors there has a bunch of fake Spyderco and BM knives for sale. $100-$150 for knives he's getting for under$20 on Aliexpress. It kind of P!$$3$ me off. I know they're fakes, but how many people have fallen for his scam? Not sure what to do (if anything) about it. Anybody have thoughts on this?

Have you gotten the name/website/business of this seller and sent the info to Spyderco? That would be a good start.

***EDIT: I think what happens here with the 'hole-less' Spyderco fakes is that the knife is photoshopped to remove the hole and the laser etching, to get around copyright issues, but when purchasing, it will either be a full-on counterfeit or you might be able to request all the logos and engravings upon ordering..***

It doesn't quite look right without the hole...

Another hole-less one!

This one is a blatant counterfeit:

Wow, counterfeit AND ships from the US? I wonder who in the US is shipping these?

Wording placement all wrong:

This is weird. And you can get it w/ the American Flag on the scales. The irony.

Just search for any model number, such as 'C223' and you'll probably see some results.

If you buy Fakes or Counterfeit's IMHO you are part of problem, not solution.

Unfortunatly he just rents a space at an antique mall. Not a legitamate business. No name or business license.

I've seen fakes in an antique mall in Longmont, CO, too. These were $500-$700 Benchmades for $85.

In a different mall near me there's a vendor selling Spyderco Factory Seconds. They're asking very close to what first quality ones go for. They do all have a notch cut in the spine and their information cards do say, "Spyderco F.S." on them. Most people wouldn't know it's a factory second, though.

What about mentioning it to the owner/manager of the antique mall?

I didn't think about contacting the owner of the mall. Good idea. I've spoken with the owners of the mall before. Very nice older couple. I think I'm going to let them know.

Another Fake on the Auction SIte. At what point will all of this start damaging a platforms trust to the point people will stop using it. Im to that point with knives and other items easily cloned. I would rather pay a little more from someone I can trust.

Honest opinions here guys, do these look legitimate?

Edit: After a knowledgeable collector on Spydercos informed me that boxes from various times (including the 2017 and 2018 date of these knives) did indeed say "printed in China" and after reading and old Bladesforum post on the subject and seeing Sal confirmed this was the case(way back in 2009, here's the link: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/are ... na.652506/ ) I'm not as worried as I was previously and am confident they are real.

Numerous counterfeit "spotting" videos on YouTube and website articles (for example, this one: https://sharperapex.com/anatomy-of-a-co ... rco-knife/ ) claimed any box from Golden saying "printed in China" meant it was an automatically fake box, and likely knife, are apparently getting this mixed up and/or are seeing it on more modern blades, which can indeed mean a counterfeit (box at least). But I figured I would add that bit of info, for anyone seeing it on older boxes/knives from Golden or elsewhere, it isn't an automatic fake. It had me very freaked out though, as it's a very widespread belief. Luckily, someone much more knowledgeable on Spyderco knives confirmed boxes going pretty far back(and on the same Fradon Lock 4V Manix) that it is indeed how these knives came boxed until more recently.

Sorry for the somewhat redundant comment, but I figured I would inform here that on older models that the boxes did indeed say "printed in China" on certain knives, hopefully that's enough information to help someone else out in the future.

Hello everyone, I found this listing of the Spyderco Para 3. It's from a pawn shop in Prague, Czech republic:
https://www.sbazar.cz/inzerat/214321642 ... military-3

The price is ~76 USD.

Does it look legit, or is it fake?

I'm sorry if this is just another redundant question, but I'm quite new to this, and I don't want to make a mistake.
