Wish I would have know this one sooner though. I bought a Slipit Lil Native a month or two back as my "legal everywhere" knife. A stormtrooper Urban pretty much fits that need as well. But for less than $100 may be worth the risk to pick one up and sell my Lil Native.
Wonder if the lock got CQI to be a little more like the UKPK or if it’s always going to be stiff…
Stiff is good … especially in a slipit

In my experience (sample of one FRN SPY27 UKPK and one K390 Urban), the Urban is stiffer and drags more through the whole opening while the UKPK is smooth through opening while also having a crisper half-stop and a stronger, crisper detent at full open.
The Urban's not bad per se, but the UKPK is pretty much the epitome of one hand opening slipjoint action to me.
I am still very interested in this Urban.

A nice little piece of Rex45 for under $100...these days?? Great opportunity for those that missed out on all the Rex45 runs a few years ago. I think I remember reading a thread fairly recently where someone was looking for some Rex45 to try. Hopefully he's still around and sees this thread!

Yes, this exactly mirrored my experience as well. The Urban in the SFO I tried was a bit stiff and gritty, while the UKPK was actually very smooth, but the half stop seemed a little too strong for what it should be. Still would prefer the latter for sure.
Coated Rex45 is a crime, the bare steel forms such a beautiful patina.
I do notice the slightly grabby feeling when cutting most things, but coated tool steels are basically stainless steels with a better balance of toughness/edge retention so I'm all for it.
Everytime GP does one of these rex45/white exclusives I lament and contemplate till they're sold out but this one is going to be an instant buy.
To an extent. For my comfort level the UKPK is the minimum stiffness/detent for IWB carry.
The Damasteel Sprint Urban I have borders on too stiff to be safe when closing as the smooth scales and smaller handle don’t provide as secure a grip as the UKPK.
This exclusive should be a little better with the FRN scales but still hoping it’s not as stiff as the Urban I have.
Thinking there’s not as much variation in detent on the Slipits vs other lock configurations but would be interested to hear feedback from others on variations in action stiffness.
And that's very weird because this is a slip joint. Anyways, even if there's a shipping to the UK there's also minimum 200$ limit. I mean, your order should be at least 200$ to qualify for international shipping.
I got 2 of them. But they're taking a detour on the way to the UK. Just a quick stop in Bulgaria with my brother in law and then coming to the UK. I hope.
Edit. Just checked and the restrictions of only 2 per person is gone. As of today there's still 405 pieces available.
I was tempted to jump on this but I already have the white/DLC Native 5 that's basically NIB in a drawer.
This thread did remind me that I already have two Urbans that don't get carried as much as they should either. So the Manix 2 LW is back on my desk and the K390 Urban is now in pocket lol
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
