"Production Sample Meerkat" ... with Deep burgundy FRN Scales with Micro Melt PD#1 Black Blade? :thinking

A coated Meerkat sounds good to me.

Curious why the Swayback is still hanging around? Prices have continued to fall, and I really want to try one, but an hesitant for some reason. I like the no ramp design for more sleek carry. This would be a dressier knife for me and would possibly see some extended edc stretches. So anyone who has one, please share Pros & Cons

For me, the Swayback’s only weakness is that it’s slightly harder to open with one hand than most Spyderco knives. Not a big deal, in my opinion. I’m never in a big hurry to open my Swayback.

I have a Swayback and think it too elegant to be used much.

Understand, I came here 14 years ago with an interest in Spydies as pieces of art. Consequently, I now possess a lot of Spydies and, having made my choices for EDC, SD, and garden Spydies, I am happy to fondle the art-pieces and marvel at the decisions that went into their designs.

Could the Swayback be used hard? Of course! It’s workman’s knife after all, even with its highly-polished blade, its high-saber grind’s graceful curvature, and its softening swedges. Titanium RILs are not my fave, owing to rapid wear on the lock bar, but the Swayback has a steel insert on the lock bar to prolong the lock’s life.

I suspect that wharncliffes are not as popular as they should be…

The Swayback is one of the nicest Spydies in my collection. Fit and finish is superb.

Anyone with a Yojimbo 2 mind measuring its closed width at its widest point? Considering ordering a vertical slotted foam insert for storage and want to make sure the slots are wide enough for it and I couldn’t find width measurements for it anywhere.

I measured 1.661 inches at the point where the blade spine starts to slope downward, which is to the right of Michael Janich's maker's mark if you're looking at the clip side.

This is the reason I don't have one - I'm left-handed and it doesn't look like I can easily flick it open from the back.

And I've already got a two-hand open swayback I don't carry enough 😅

It's one of my favorite Spydercos. As of the last several months, I have only carried a few Spydercos. Swayback is one of them.

I’ve been making plans for our Easter trip this past week, and as it will involve a fair amount of salt water fishing a couple of salty spydies were obvious entries in my packing list.
When time came to begin packing, fear set in. After digging through my sock drawers repeatedly I could still not locate my Waterway and Catcherman.
After several days of going through any likely and unlikely location, with both still on the loose, I feared this was a clue I might have left them behind at some fishing location.
Today, while looking for something completely different I finally stumbled upon my Catcherman. What a relief :)
I still have no clue where the Waterway may be, but finding my Catcherman actually gave me some renewed hope that also the Waterway will reappear at some point. Fingers crossed.

This is actually my first time checking out this thread, sorry it had to be such a negative spin, but I needed to vent. Having knives on the loose is nothing new for me, but I usually locate any knife rather quickly when I put some effort into finding it. When a knife stays unaccounted for after days of deliberate searching I realize I actually get a bit worried.

^ I hope you find your Waterway. Misplacing stuff is a real bother, but finding it afterward is a great relief.

On a different note: Does anyone know if there will be another Tax Day MAP event this year?

It would be nice to have a MAP holiday right about now, to order some knives from the US before possible reciprocal tariffs go into effect. Hopefully the tariffs are shelved altogether, but in case their not, there’s a couple of knives I’d want to get my hands on before they skyrocket out of my price bracket.

Without further details, l fail to see how raising tariffs on products coming into to the USA directly raise the cost of USA products in your country. So, a MAP holiday is not a solution to your proposed issue.

Bought a teal G10 S90V PM2 from KSF recently as I missed the initial drop from a few years ago. Still in stock for $164.50 in case anyone is looking for one.

hello friends! i am new to the spyderco family, and to knives in general. these knives are just a portion of the collection that my boyfriend and his family own. only the top two are made by a different manufacturer! i was a little bored and decided to put the knives in order by height 😆 i’m enjoying all there is to learn about these guys! from blade shapes to jimping, all the ergonomics! i love the names of so many of them! like the byrd knives, the ladybug and the dragonfly (the dragonfly knife is just gorgeous!!) my favorite knife is the caly 3! it fits perfectly in my paw.
happy spydering ! 🕷️
