Need help with endela wave dimensions

#1

Post by Blue72 »

I find my delica wave to be a bit short with the Emerson opener. Can someone tell me what the dimensions are on the endela wave opener from the tip of the knife to the tip of the Emerson opener. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to help, but I don't own an Endela, waved or otherwise.

Just measured mine. It’s 57mm or 2.25 inches from the end of the wave opener to tip of blade.

Glad sv 4 could help (I couldn't have, don't own a wave version).

/ You are probably aware of this anyway, but still just in case: The Endela imo much more feels like an "a bit smaller Endura" than like "a larger Delica" (resp. it's a lot closer to the Endura)
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Thank you so much, very much appreciated!

I guess I’m going to have to upgrade to the endura.

I love the Emerson opener, but I’m not crazy how it prevents so much blade length from being used when cutting some materials

No worries. I do recall comparing the Endura & Endela Wave versions at the local dealer sometime back. There was not much significant difference in blade lengths, the Endura was probably less than 1/2 inch longer. I went with the Endela because it was on special discount :smlling-eyes

I’m surprised spyderco doesn’t move the opener further back so you can fully utilize the blade
