After the debacle of a double order I finally got it worked out. Although janky site for a bit, customer service is excellent.

I'm torn. Should be a no brainer. Kapara is a model I don't have in a favorite steel and scale material. Even cheaper than the standard model. It's always been a model that interested me. Right size.

But... $255 is alot. Would be my most expensive Spyderco by about $20. And I have a lot of knives, so it's getting harder and harder to justify dropping that much even when it seemingly has so many pros and isn't duplicated by anything else.

Might sleep on it a day or two, and if it's still available then that will be my answer.

I had issues with KC website lagging real bad haha I guess I wasn't the only one who wanted this knife. I don't own a kapara I decided to grab one of these instead of another knife.

Should sell out sometime tonight or I’d be shocked. I’m going to sit this one out and kick myself later- this is a collectible edc spydie if there ever was one. But I have got to save some $ this summer!

Super stoked to have one on the way! My standard S30V/CF Kapara has been my office mate ever since it landed at our house, and I’ve been dreaming since then of having a more favorite-r steel in this configuration. I dug around on the secondary considering the odd grey G10/20CV auctions that come up, but this one feels like a dream come true with S90V! The steel that started my personal interest in this rabbit hole.

Been carrying M2’s and PM2’s a lot outside of the office lately and there’s a nice common thread in using these that makes moving between them intuitive. I’m also super impressed with the Taichung factory’s fit & finish - it is right there with Golden’s. Can’t wait to see the burlap micarta, too! Ok! Enough excitement for one reply.

Site crashed on me when I was at checkout now it won’t load
Yeah, clunky web site. When I finally go through to the checkout, it wouldn’t accept payment. :zany Oh well, saved me $255.
Still, I hope others enjoy the knife.
I to had that trouble (also from Australia) ended up changing to a card from a different bank and it worked. Must be something to do with international payments.

I'm torn between this and the Sage 6 S90V sprint. I think I'm sticking with the latter, though.

Has anyone received their shipping notice yet? I haven’t and it seems unlike KC to take this long to ship.

They seem to have gone quiet. I was going to answer with - Someone has, there is a review on the web site. But then I read the review and the person is using words like ‘should’ and ‘will’. Sounds like they are talking future state.

Something weird going on. Hopefully they get it sorted.

I just got my tracking number a few minutes ago. I assume it will go out tomorrow.

Mine arrived today. Even bevels, centered, and zips through telephone book paper with ease.

How’s the comp lock smoothness? Out of every four comp lock knives I buy, one is smooth-releasing, and the others are clicky. Applies regardless of being made in the US, Taichung, or Japan.

Mine gets here Tuesday, so I’ll know soon enough.

I had the first run Kapara, followed by the DLT (I think) one with the gray g10. Both were nicely done, but pre-dated the pivot updates that were made subsequently. I sold them a while ago.

I hope this one is a keeper!

I find this new one's lock to be very smooth. I have nerve damage in my right hand, so lock stick has to be very bad for me to notice, so it's not something that is high on my list. However, this new one is very smooth, as well as being beautifully constructed.

I called and asked. They said that it is indeed smooth like the carbon fiber version. 😣

Just found out about this one today and quickly ordered one. I consider myself lucky that they have not sold out yet. Maybe it was a big run (600 or 800)…
I always liked the Kapara but wanted my first one to be a little special, so this one is definitely it!
