My first mule in VG XEOS. The handle still needs more shaping. Probably will take some time as I will use, then refine, use, etc. My dad made the box for me.

Yes they are. At first it was gonna be a plain box. But then he asked if I wanted something inlaid. "Well, since you are offering..." and just kinda went from there. Then it was the flocking, then the magnets, etc. He had fun with it, which I appreciate since I feel guilty asking him for free labor on stuff like this.

Oh man, I fell in love with how different this essence can look from tree to tree. I just bought some burl for a client wanting me to pimp his "Dark Timber" knife. Thing is humongous, I had to search for 2 weeks to find the right size !

Next essence is Ringed gidgee for my 15V I think, @standy99 has gotten me some good dealers and i definitely NEED to try this one.

Ultem.

There's some other knives in the thread with Ultem scales.

Saw some other knives that used it, thought it would look good on the MT. When I started looking through this thread, I saw guys were using it.

Also deleted the little nub or guard whatever it's called. Looks better without it hanging down, handle area contoured to match.

Yep, I knew when I went through the thread, it would work. Seeing some of the other MT's with it, made me want it more.

MK,

You grinding off your finger choil, doesn't concern you with a slick and smooth grip on your Mule; that your hand slide up and get your hand on the cutting edge while using it?

Heck, here I am wishing I had jimping on the thumb and finger choil of mine. I am actually thinking of possibly cutting my on jimping on both the Mules I have lol.

That being said, my scales have a pretty decent texture to them also, I know they are plane old solid black G10 and all, but hey they aren't that ugly lol.

I sure wouldn't want my hand or any other parts of my body on my cutting edge. That would be "not good" lol.

Hi Jeb,

I wonder if that is a common problem with knives? I've done it once. I guess after doing it once, it makes one more careful. We take that concept very seriously in all of our own designs to prevent that possibility. We try to introduce "lumpy's" in the design somewhere to stop sliding.
