Re: CPM Prototype Steel
I wondered whether something like Magnawear might end up being the name.
But that patent office filing seems like a pretty compelling case for Magnamax being a major contender for the final title. As much as I don’t think I like the name…

Re: CPM Prototype Steel
I remember back in time when Magnacut was just hitting the market, there was some rumour that Magnacut is the midground steel. And two more were in development - wear resistant one - Magnamax and tough one Magnawear. Not officially, but people were jokingly naming them like that. But then the rumors went quiet and to be honest, none of us knows exactly what's in works, how it would be named and what it is exactly. I think we can easily end up with the fantastic trio - Magnamax being wear resistant focused, Magnawear leaning towards toughness and Magnacut being the mid ground option.
Re: CPM Prototype Steel
I thought perhaps one naming option for the toughest one could be Magnatuff.
But I believe the steel that I think I’ve heard referred to as Niomax is even tougher…? Not at all sure about that, though. Not even sure if it’s a different alloy yet again to the toughest of the three “Magnas”, or whether they are one and the same. Devin and Larrin would know. Shawn as well, I imagine.
