I doubt it poses any restrictions on grinds like H1/H2 does so I don't see why it couldn't be. I would love a hollow Caly 3.5 in any steel, but in K390 I might satiated.
If you could choose one new Spyderco to be released in K390, which would it be?

Well, I think the hollow grind High Performance Delica originally was planned to come in K390...and then changed to VG10 cause a hollow grind would have been too hard to do with K390..?? (But don't quote me on that...)
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Re: If you could choose one new Spyderco to be released in K390, which would it be?
Well, I still haven't voted but I think it is going to be for the Bodacious, as it is time that knife sees some love with some special sprint runs in different steels. So far I think it has only been in S30V (yes?) and would be great in K390, especially with a slicier blade than the Shaman.
I would also LOVE to see a Manix 2 in K390, but the Manix has also seen a ton of love from many exotic steels that I could wait on that one, especially since I'm still waiting for the 15V LW. But it would be a fantastic addition.
So, many of you have mentioned the Gayle Bradley 1 or 2, and I've seen 'em, might have even held them, but I gotta ask - what makes this knife so special in your all's minds? Looks slippery due to the carbon fiber, maybe slightly uncomfortable due to the exposed liners, and the liner lock access looks difficult at best. There is a lot of dead space between the edge and the handle, at least on the GB2. Maybe next time I hit up the SFO, I'll hold one in the hands for a while and try to see what gets everyone excited about it. It reminds me of the Kapara...very elegant. But that knife seems a little too long, and the overly rounded handle + slippery smooth carbon fiber fights against it's usability.

I never even held a GB, but what makes me personally want to try one are the slicey hollow grind on a 3mm blade but with apparently still robust tip, the good amount of cutting edge in relation to the close length, the linerlock and the nice tool steel.Red Leader wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 9:30 pm.....

I would like to see Milli 2 in K390.

Voted for Bodacious as I was thinking that the minute I had my bodacious in hand how awesome it would be in k390, also would put the Gayle Bradley 2 right there with it. Those are the 2 knives I think would be best with the steel.
now a dream knife that I just want but doesnt make as much sense as the other 2 is I want a Cutlery Shoppe PM2 wharnie in k390

Not on the list, GB2. But since I am wishing, a slightly smaller version would be the cat’s meow for me. Guess I can dream, I would probably buy a baker’s dozen

I did not see the Native Chief in the list and that is fine. I am not asking for a K390 version.
I have several S90V and 110V copies and they are excellent. About the only thing I'd like to see the Native Chief in is 15V.

So for all the GB2 votes... Gray G10 like the Sage1 Maxamet?

Re: If you could choose one new Spyderco to be released in K390, which would it be?
I've thought long and hard about this. And the knife that I would most like to see in K390 is the Resilience. The Resilience has kind of snuck in to become one of my favorite Spydercos. I didn't expect much for a "value folder made in China", but it has far exceeded expectations in 8cr. The 4.25 blade in K390, with no ricasso, would slice all day long. I would definitely be a buyer for a Resilience K390Red Leader wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 8:35 pmHey all!
K390 has become one of my favorite steels. Great edge strength and retention, decent toughness, and takes a lovely patina. I would eventually love to see most/all Spyderco models in this fabulous steel.
If you could choose, which 'next knife' would you like to see get the 'K390' treatment?
Two caveats, if you will -
1. When I say 'K390', I'm referring to the 'Seki City' k390 and all of its properties that we know and love, and...
2. I intentionally left off the PM2 and Para 3, since they are currently available in k390, albeit not Seki k390
I know that this may be a tall order, since K390 tends to be more of a 'Seki only' steel thus far, but since we've seen S30V head over there, why not get some of that awesome k390 over here?
If your knife choice isn't on the list, feel free to add it in your comments!
S30V; S35VN; VG-10; BD1N; H1; SuperBlue/SUS410; 8Cr13MoV; Micro-Melt PD#1; REX-45; Cruwear; BD1; K390; Magnacut; HAP40/SUS410; 20CV; 15V; M4; SPY27; LC200N; S90V
Re: If you could choose one new Spyderco to be released in K390, which would it be?
The Chaparral has the lowest edge geometry, the strength and stability characteristics of K390 would shine the most on this blade.
The Chaparral also because it is the only knife on this list which only has a single blade steel option - CTS-XHP - that’s all.

To be honest, something that will never happen, but Chap in some non stainles tool steel would be awesome. One can only dream
Re: If you could choose one new Spyderco to be released in K390, which would it be?
The Chaparral has been available in both S30V and XHP. The Bodacious has so far only been available in S30V (admittedly SPY27 likely coming soon).

Definitely a Bodacious. I am also extremely interested in a St Nick's 4V version, one in 15V and a DLC Salt version.

I always thought it would be great if Tiachung offered a bunch of 10v after they put out the K2... Nice alternative to K390. Now with CPM up in the air, let's just K390 everything!

Agreed. I have more K390, but I think that is just an artifact of availability. While we will be losing CPM 10V, we will still have it’s equivalent in K294.abbazaba wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 4:01 pmI always thought it would be great if Tiachung offered a bunch of 10v after they put out the K2... I dont think K294 has really gotten a fair shake, yet. Nobody is pushing it and it is not being marketed, so nobody really knows about it. Doody’s Dagger’s review of the K294 Mule Team was a great start, but I think it needs more attention. It hasn’t been a hot seller in the MT format, but if Spyderco took the leap and just started creating some sprint runs in it, I think it would do a lot of good for the steel and increase it’s popularity. Just do it. Especially because it is a high performance steel and available.
I wiuld for sure get a Bodacious, Chap, or Para 3 in K294. Whew those would be some hot knives.
