Welcome Erica's EDC to the forum

Almost 10 years ago I remember receiving a warm welcome when I first came to the Spyderco Forum.

I would greatly appreciate it if we could welcome Erica Slater from Ericasedc to the Spyderco Forum.


The Spyderco Forum is a special place that I feel focuses more on the real world uses of knives and different steels than other places.


For many years Erica has been very passionate about sharing her sincere and candid real world experiences about using different knives and steels. She has been successful in articulating her opinions to a wide audience in a way that is easy to understand.

It takes a lot of dedication, resources and courage to do this as many of you that share on this forum (Vivi, Steeltoez, David, Bolster, Mage7,Guts, Williammunny, etc) understand.

While I'm sure everybody is well aware that not everyone's opinions will match up perfectly, it makes for great discussions about the tools we use and enjoy.

I feel discussion itself is a living thing and it requires a constant influx of new perspectives and opinions based on different experiences otherwise a forum becomes a "tomb"


I would be sincerely grateful if we could please welcome Erica to the Spyderco Forum.

Welcome to the forum Erica. Do you prefer natural knife handle materials like wood and stag or synthetic like fiberglass reinforced nylon and G10 laminate? Do you prefer stain resistant steel like VG10 and AUS8 and 400 series stainless or carbon steel like 1095 and O1?

Oh cool cool, so glad to see this young lady join us bug bit thugs here. Erica, you just need to know more than a few of us have been bit really bad by our bugs here and we need lots of help.

Most of us really being just me personally, these other guys here are really pretty awesome and take killer pix and frequently tack those up on the forum, with awesome info shared about the Spyderco products.

Just keep in mind also most of these guys here are thugs lol and from all over the world. Me, now I am very honest to start with, but while these other guys here being thugs, I am way worse and I am retired and live in the desert of Texas. Just so you know lol...
