Ex-McDonald's Employee Warns Us Not to Order This Meat
The AI-generated voice of the 'narrator' is kinda funny with the puns.
I haven't eaten at McDonald's in literally 30 years; I stopped eating it in early 1995. I continued occasionally eating fast food at other places for a few years after that, but still haven't eaten any at all in nearly a couple decades. I'm certain that ALL fast food is garbage.
I am NOT a strict "health food nut," although my diet is mostly quite healthy. I just won't eat fast food anymore. Also, the fact that I gave up eating beef and pork in 1995, and developed a problem with gluten sensitivity 15 years ago, means I'm very careful about what I eat, and do all of my own cooking.

I think we might be half brothers... and I'll concede that you're probably the good one. If I'm catching your drift, you're implying that McDonald's food might not be the healthiest. I'll take it one step further and claim that McDonald's kills more Americans annually than Osama bin Laden ever did in his wildest dreams. But the funny thing is, Americans like it that way. On any given day, I see lines of cars snaking around these fast food establishments. Sometimes people ask me if I don't like... whatever it is that's being served. I usually try to answer in a polite but vague manner. If I was truthful, I would admit that I respect myself more than I feel a need to bond with them by engaging in damaging behavior. Would I like to see fast food fade away? Sure. But only by people's own choice. We all know what happened with the government banned alcohol.

McD's burgers are the worst! I don't like them and won't eat McD's if I can help it. Even their fries are not as good as they used to be. BK Whopper is pretty healthy and Taco Bell has some good offerings. McD? Nope.

I avoid all fast food. Besides, nothing is faster than bringing snacks with me from home.
I also don't eat or drink: sodas, alcohol, candy, ice cream, gum, mints, coffee, energy drinks, caffeine in general, etc.
I cook for myself and my family at least 6 days a week.

Re: Fast Food Yuckiness
I agree with @Doc Dan that Taco Bell may be healthy IF the food is fresh. Taco Bell just serves refried beans 25 different ways, some lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese.
As far as McD's goes I think I've eaten there 4x over the last 25 years. Two of those times, I yacked up everything that I ate, and I rarely get sick. Burger King is no better, I think that I was served a hamburger dipped in stove grease.
Fast foods best days are G.O.N.E.

Re: Fast Food Yuckiness
McDonald's has 19 ingredients in their fries! 19!!!
French fries, chopped potatoes fried in oil! Why are there anymore ingredients then that?
Subway went to crap years ago, their tuna, doesn't even have fish in it!
When these places stop making food, you need to be even more worried. Most of them bring everything in, in bags, then warm the items up.
Then there's fried chicken... **** no! Not even going there.
If I want a burger, it's In-n-Out, 100% never frozen beef, lettuce, tomatoes, onions... fries made from real potatoes, that you can actually watch them cut, and drop into the frier.

I would sooner starve myself to death than eat food from McDonalds. Same goes for Subway, I wouldn't eat from Subway if it was the last place to buy food on earth.

I agree that McDonald's by itself is responsible for killing more Americans annually than you-know-what/who. Then combine the number with all the other fast food chains, it's astronomical.

I've got health problems that leave me with a stomach that can barely take fast food, not that I find it the least bit appealing at this point anyway. It really is gross what they sell these days, not to mention how much they are charging for the garbage they are passing off as food. Eating out so expensive now that I virtually only eat food from home, and only think about eating out when it is necessary.

I am half and half on this. I was hungry and had the McRib and also a basic hamburger. It was okay but I felt guilty because I am trying to eat better. Their fries are very salty but tasty. I try not to eat fast food if I can avoid it.
Years ago I was going to get a Subway Sandwich but I over heard a male employee joking to his co worker about boogers in food and I walked out.

When I do my long distance cross country bicycle tours, I often pass through very small towns late at night. I'm a night owl so I keep pedalling until around 10-11, setup camp in the dark, then set out around 9am.
A lot of times my dinner options are a gas station and subway. If I'm lucky there's a rural walmart where I can grab a variety of things.
Every single time I had the choice between a gas station or subway for dinner, I chose the former

FAST FOOD'S PINK SLIME
Did any of you see the videos on PINK SLIME back a decade or two ago? I'm just guessing, but I think that all fast food chicken and beef products has slime in it. Probably most of your supermarket ground beef has pink slime in it. All of those Chicken McNuggets - WHITE SLIME.
The slime is a paste, and then they shape it into whatever they like with molds or they extrude it.
The only way that I know how to get around consuming pink(beef)/white(chicken) slime is to buy whole beef and whole chicken products, take them home and grind them yourself.
Watch the videos on PINK SLIME, you will never eat fast food again.
NOTE: the reviewer here says the beef in a Big Mac is 100% beef....all because the USDA says PINK SLIME is 100% beef. YUM!

Pretty sick. When Gene Roddenberry wrote the original Star Trek the idea at the time was that in the future there will be three categories of food sources (the Soylent Green is a horrific 4th):
1 All natural organic home made like humans ate pre 1850 and back to time immemorial. The organic whole ingredients.
2 The Synthetic and Processed like the Meat and Protein Slimes and cakes you posted. He said these can be safe and nutritious if care is put into making them. That would be great for space ship food.
3 Full scale Food Replicator 3d Printers that make food directly from atoms or subatomic particles.

Warning: The story below is kinda gross, so if you're squeamish, don't read it.
The most nauseous I ever got in my life was after eating McDonald's, just prior to taking a taxi to the airport in Hong Kong to fly back to Taiwan, when I lived there. This happened back in the 1980s. BTW, there were McDonald's restaurants everywhere in Hong Kong.
As soon as the plane took off and was gaining altitude, I had to grab the barf bag from the seat pocket in front of me and practically filled it up. Luckily, the plane wasn't full (miraculously, the only time in my life a plane I was in wasn't full; it was only about half full), and the Japan Air Lines stewardesses allowed me to lie down in the 3 seats next to the window. Then, as the plane started to descend to land in Taiwan, I had to fill a second barf bag. And I almost never throw up. I was miserable until the next day or two. That was the last time I ever ralphed to this day.
I'm not sure if it was the McDonald's food itself, or if a worker hadn't washed his hands before preparing the dang food. Probably both.

Re: Fast Food Yuckiness
So I knew a guy whose dad suffered major organ failure. During his final days, he ended up having to take laxatives to flush his kidneys and was so bed ridden that he had to get a commode because he couldn't make it to the toilet. Sadly, he died from complications brought on by his condition.
Now, this might sound as if what I'm going to tell you is that his diet incorporated McDonald's and that is what contributed to his death, but no... See, the thing is, my friend mentioned to me that when he was cleaning the room out, there was a strangely familiar smell that he couldn't identify.
That is... Until the next time he was at McDonald's and smelled the exact same scent.
I haven't ate McDonald's since hearing his story.

No longer buying new Spyderco knives due to policies described here. Wallets speak louder than keyboards.
Re: Fast Food Yuckiness
I've known some people who would get irresistible cravings for fast food, especially for burgers. Not having eaten a hamburger in 30 years, I have zero desire to eat one ever again, which I wouldn't do anyway, even if I hadn't sworn off of all beef in 1995; and even if I had never develop a gluten sensitivity problem in 2011.
When I was a kid, I used to like Der Wienerschnitzel, and sometimes Jack in the Box. Now, I couldn't imagine ever wanting to eat that stuff.
I eat lots of fruits and vegetables. When I get snack cravings, it's almost always for those things. I also don't get that bad, guilty feeling like when you know you're eating something that's bad for you.

That's BS, ground Beef that is processed in the stores doesn't have any pink slime in it.
I worked in that business for almost 3 decades.
Ground Beef that is processed in the store fresh is pure beef, I know because I used to process it.
Now the prepacked stuff I have no clue about.

Re: Fast Food Yuckiness
Are there any fast food type meals any of you would recommend that can be both healthy and safe as well as convenient and reasonably inexpensive or is the vary notion of fast food going to be somerhing bad?
