Great looking knife.
I like the clip also, surprised we don't see that design clip more often on a wider variety of knives

I really want to not want one of these as I really don’t rate M398, but contrary to my better judgment I really do want one 🫠

Curse you Mike Read, with your innovative design and compelling aesthetics! 🤪

More of a “floating” pivot…. To me, it looks like the “frame” would fail well before the blade, under certain torque conditions…. It is a cool design and I have/had some neat knives some interesting designs. I would like to have one just for the design, knowing I don’t do silly non-knife tasks with my knives anyway.
Whatever turns you on, cupcake.
Still plays with knives…

I was able to to have a close look and feel of it at the Amsterdam meet. The locking mechanism is very well executed and the frame is from titanium so plenty strong, especially for it's size.

So friggin cool.
So the design allows for the part of the frame which holds the blade move around (relative to top portion of the frame) and thus engage and disengage (depending on how much pressure exerted on the spine) like a slip joint.
If I understand this right, it’s rather ingenious.
A bit different, but this reminds me somewhat of the Scorpion lock from AD.
Love unique concepts that translate well into use. Hope this one does, also.

Has anybody gotten one yet? I'm anxious for some real-life impressions, but not ready to jump in myself. MagnaCut and a bit pointier blade, or at least a more attractive blade shape, would make this a no-brainer for me. As it is, the design screams "Grab it!", but the price and that spine profile have dissuaded me so far.

I literally have no complaints. This may be my most favorite slipit ever. It’s been a long time since I got a knife that had no “buts.”

Action is smooth, quality is excellent and with that clip, it disappears in your pocket.

Just got one and first impressions are as follows:
  • Fills the hand better than a UKPK due to the handle being taller, thicker, and solid titanium
  • Love the pocket clip and hope they can integrate this into other future models as it’s deep carry, classy, slim, and effective.
  • Decently thick spine but tall blade makes for decently thin BTE and it slices better than a Lil Native.
  • Cutting edge shape is reminiscent of a larger LN
  • Action is stiff from closed but mellows out once the tip clears the handle. Consistent tension thereafter (think Swiss Army knife or Buck folder) and clicks open.
  • Closing doesn’t require much force to initiate from open; this could be a concern but the small finger choil does its job to keep your index finger away from the cutting edge.
  • The last 20 degrees of closing stiffen up due to the floating pivot but there isn’t much closing bias.
  • The mini thumb ramp is comfortable enough but I would prefer not to have it if the knife had a lock (it’s needed for the Slipit to keep the knife from closing while in use
  • Overall I prefer the double detent action of the UKPK to this as the closing bias and mid-travel detent seem to fit the slip joint a little better.
  • The UKPK also has a better functional execution of the finger choil/thumb ramp as it is more comfortable
  • The knife feels like the titanium cousin that slots right in size between the Lil Native and Native 5.
  • I’ll be keeping it in my pocket for the next couple weeks to see how it performs for light EDC use and as a dressier option than my UKPK or Chaparral.
  • I like everything about this knife except the feel of the action (though it is tied to the design and therefore cannot be easily changed).
