Kopa or Kiwi would be my first choices. I do carry the Ladybug hawkbill in my watchpocket at work and home, basically 6 days a week.
Nice to see flashbacks of previous thoughts or posts and how our tastes have changed. I rarely carry my Kopas or Kiwis nowadays but I should carry them more. I have had the same Ladybug SE in foliage for over a decade on my keyring. I guess that is my most carried and consistently EDCd knife. The lanyard hole is more oblong than before, but it is every bit as ha my as it was. I have carried, lost, replaced and lost again my SE Laydhawk that used to ride in my watch pocket. It like my SE Dragonfly hawkbill I never seem to be able to hold onto. It's not a grip thing, I just keep losing them. If I can draw any conclusions from this, it seems that is the biggest drawback of an LBK for me, loseability.

Delica is my small knife. I can appreciate the dragonfly but I gifted mine and have yet to replace.

Preferences.
There is no right answer. Delica is probably too small for many

I guess this is easy for me. Manbug salt has been a constant companion. I use it more than any other knife.

I've got a Chaparral arriving tomorrow, which will be my smallest Spyderco and probably my smallest "proper" folder to date, so I'm sure it'll get at least a week of dedicated pocket time. I already know I can get by with a small knife because I will sometimes carry just my TiRant v3 utility blade when I leave the house. As a baker I don't really find a big work use for larger pocket knives, so those are almost exclusively used at home (or as a leisure carry on a day off, which I'd do with my Chief sometimes).

I carry the Lil Native as a "back up" quite a bit.

Not much of a challenge when all I ever carry is chaparral or delica.

The Squeak is my smallest and most used this week. Easy to pocket and sheeple friendly.

Hmmm. I like this. I like this challenge.

I don't have a 'small' Spyderco. Now I must get one.

Thanks!

National Knives still has the FRN Chaparral (PE) for $93 (once you log in), which is the cheapest I've found it in a long while.

Wow, I haven't been on the forums for some time and I missed a lot of fun I see. I challenged myself with exactly the same quite recently, just for the whole month. My knife of choice was Manbug leaf shape in full SE and I used it extensively as my main knife, including preparing whole dinner multiple times. I did document cutting up whole chicken, to prove my wife that such a small knife is extremely capable for various tasks and punching above it's weight heavily, she was impressed. Lovely tool, sometimes all I need in my pocket to be honest. I love smaller blades and I use my knives for whatever I can use them for, even though there are better tools in my arsenal for the job at hand. This is the great thing about knife collecting hobby, you can really enjoy some fun and test your knives limits. Needless to say, I would not choose manbug as my only bushcraft knife :winking-tongue

Thanks! I'm going to keep an eye out for either a Chap LW SE, or I've also got the Lil' Native on my mind. I like the Native 5, and the idea of the Shaman, but the Shaman might be a skosh too long, but I still like the compression lock, and I haven't really tried a 'small' knife yet, so...

And despite the Chaparral LW SE being so highly recommended, my 'chainsaw' duties are being handled w/ extreme vengeance by my LJ SE in K390 :bug-red

Regardless of what I'm carrying as a primary and a beast, usually a PM2 and a Shaman (or Native 5/Lil' Temp LW away from home), I always have either a DFly K390 or a Lil' Native Wharnie set up for left carry in my left front pocket.

On any given day the little gal does most of the work, so I'd survive nicely with a DFly or a lil' Native.

A larger, Endura-sized folder will always be more versatile in my personal use... but I can totally see myself solely carrying my Chap SE for a longer period of time, enjoying its great performance in many tasks and just work around (literally..) its "short"comings in others...
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

First time I’ve logged onto the forum in a few days (life’s been keeping me all kinds of busy). This is the first thread I’ve read and lo and behold my best little buddy is in my pocket right now 😉
