Well done. It's a shame you will have to carry the GBb1 for 6 years before you can try the GB2.

Well, impulse occurrence, but now have a Super Blue Delica on the way... Should have been saving my money for upcoming 15V drops...

I struggle with a similar compulsory defect when knives of certain steels become available. Thus my Hap40 Delica will be here Wednesday. Super Blue is another one i feel this way about. I purchased 6 Caly Jrs when they came back out. 1 gifted, 2 in the safe for each of my children, 1 for me and 2 spares. As I said, compulsory defect.SpeedHoles wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 6:45 pmWell, impulse occurrence, but now have a Super Blue Delica on the way... I am supposed to have a new Manix2XL with the jade scales and M4 steel on the way. Really looking forward to this knife.
Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I finally grabbed one of these S30V Delica wharncliffes I keep seeing in stock at various places. Decided to get it from LynchNW so I could get the free teal anodized clip along with it. Feels like nobody mentions this model, but it's basically the same price as the VG-10 models but upgraded to S30V and a wharncliffe blade.

Agreed. I'm waiting for the 15V drops as well, so I'm not buying any more Spydercos until....what? A Lil Native serrated for $100. Okay. Fine. I will NOT buy any more until the 15V drops...really. I mean it.SpeedHoles wrote: ↑Sun Mar 16, 2025 6:45 pmWell, impulse occurrence, but now have a Super Blue Delica on the way... Should have been saving my money for upcoming 15V drops...
In the past few months, the Lil' Native has become my favorite small knife. The DF2 held that spot for some years before that. When I got my first Lil Native, I thought 5th pocket carry was a bit awkward. But simply removing the pocket clip made it much better in pocket. It doesn't quite disappear the way a DF2 does, but in hand, it feels so much better.

I was on a Lil Native kick for a bit there closer to when they came out, got an M4, really enjoyed it... But then more recently, now I found I liked the Microjimbo more in that carry size range, kicking the Lil Nat to the side for a bit, despite the fact that I typically do prefer a choil and the MicroJ not having it. So that's one of the upcoming releases I'm saving for in 15V.
That said, I haven't tried the Lil Nat Wharnie yet for a closer comparison.
Going back to Caly.

When it was introduced, the Microjimbo got my attention. But when I looked at its size, and compared it to the Lil Native and how I hold it, I realized the choil was a requirement for me, at least on a small knife.

REC Native 5 is on its way. Found one secondhand for a reasonable price. All it may need is a replacement clip.

Am I sneaking in a “help me decide” post if I say I have both an Ikuchi and a NAND in my cart and only one will ship?

I couldn't resist the $126 Endura HAP40 Sprint at Bento Box any longer...... But you you have to spend at least $199 to get free shipping. So I added a $108 Leafjumper K390 as well. It was the only sensible thing to do

I have my NIB, but old stock Manix 2XL with jade scales and M4 steel in Dallas, so should be here at the house Wednesday. Looking quite forward to this one.

Just ordered a Janisong from National Knives. Total impulse purchase. I don't think I'll regret it.

I really like that color of scales with the black blade too.
Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
Chaparral LW (PE) should be arriving tomorrow, and then hopefully my Sage 5 Salt sometime this weekend. After that my Spyderco list for 2025 is pretty short - the Native Chief CruCarta, one of the Sage 6 models, and maybe a Yojimbo 2.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I picked up a Sage 5 Salt a month or so ago. The only one on my list currently is a Native 5 LW 15V, which should be dropping any month now...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
First Spyderco and First post. The knife already arrived at my house but I’m out of town for work until the weekend and have to wait a little longer. It’s a Delica sprint run Burgundy in PD1.
Haven’t bought a new knife in 8 years or so since I got a limited edition Benchmade Contigo with blue and black G10 scales and M390 steel. My collection is small. A Buck 110 in S30V and a Bark River Knives Bravo 1 fixed blade.
I’m a CWI and started a new job in the Pharma industry that requires a lot of pre weld material and component inspection and opening a lot of boxes/packaging. Felt like I needed something a little smaller and more subtle than anything else I had, flipping open an Contego in that situation seemed to be a bit much. Since I’ve always wanted to try out a Spydie. I figured this was the perfect excuse and I really like the design and color way of this sprint and like what I read about the PD1 performance.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I just got the Endela in PD#1 and so far I love it. It was very sharp from the factory, but a few passes on a diamond paste leather strop made it insane hair-whittling sharp. This steel really takes an edge very easily. I haven't had it long enough to really test edge retention, but I'm optimisticBacklock wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 4:58 pmFirst Spyderco and First post.
