Haha nice choice. It just feels so right in the hand! Bit of a pocket bulger though, but not the worst. And the Compression lock action itself on that knife can vary a bit, it's a tighter action than in general compared to other designs with that lock, a bit more friction throughout the motion. Which never bothered me, operates perfectly fine, but some of the fidgeter users complain it isn't as free swinging. So just a heads up when you're forming your first thoughts on usage when you get it.Aladinsane wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 4:13 pmJust ordered a Lil' Temperance 3 LW SE from National Knives today!First compression lock and first order from National Knives.
And I think you'll be happy with National. I always get a usable microfiber with the box, which to me is a nice touch and less trash going into the landfill than single use garbage packaging!
Going back to Caly.

I hate to jinx* myself, while a knife is still en route, so, I waited until it arrived: Tusk, pre-owned. I want to carry this one, not just “collect” it. Life is good.

Pretty eclectic choice of EDC, or are you often dealing with knots in your daily tasks? Might be pretty cool to modify the spike to be a more usable pry took or something?

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I'm not much on fidgeting, and all my other knives are backlocks or slipits, so super loose action is not a thing with me. I just checked my email, and the order from National Knives is already in the USPS system and on its way! Should be here by Tuesday! Looking forward to something a bit different!SpeedHoles wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 4:30 pmHaha nice choice. It just feels so right in the hand! Bit of a pocket bulger though, but not the worst. I finally jumped on a Kapara. Pretty sure it's gonna be nothing less than great.

Just got a VG-10 Ladybug on eBay for $28. It was sold as used, but it appears to never have been carried or cut. This will be my first Ladybug, so I'm excited

One of my favorites, hopefully we see another sprint or even a new Alistair Phillips collaboration again soon.eventhorizon wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2025 2:19 amI finally jumped on a Kapara. Pretty sure it's gonna be nothing less than great.

Which blade shape? The "Ladyhawk" hawkbill version is one of my preferred for the tiny LBK knives. Also the old Sheepsfoot. Super handy keychain knives.

It's the plain-Jane PE sabre grind black frn. But I have a bid on a H-1 salt hawkbill SE too.SpeedHoles wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2025 12:10 pmWhich blade shape? The "Ladyhawk" hawkbill version is one of my preferred for the tiny LBK knives. Also the old Sheepsfoot. Super handy keychain knives.

Got a Raffir Noble Chaparral on the way.
I acquired a FRN Chaparral PE recently and I feel like it’s a design that I have been searching for for a long time but just didn’t know it until I got one.
Hoping to like the RN model just as much or better.

I used to mess about in small boats, and, want to do so, again. One thing that is different, now, is that older fingers have become arthritic, and more susceptible to cold. Plus, the Tusk was visually appealing, from the moment I saw its announcement, years ago.SpeedHoles wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 10:24 pmPretty eclectic choice of EDC, or are you often dealing with knots in your daily tasks? Got two knives coming from National Knives. I’ve wanted the Swayback for a long time and I was finally able to order it. In addition to that I got a PM3 CPM 15V with G10 scales which will go nicely with the LW one I got earlier.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I bought an open box LW Endura in K390 from Kaviso knives, that's out for delivery today. My eBay Manix 2 in CTS-BD1 has a shipping label, two GP Knives exclusive PM2 in REX 76 are ... somewhere.
I bought them last Tuesday, they got as far as creating a tracking number. Called support this morning, they said the post office has them but didn't update their records, probably because of the storm last week.
Finally, my Sage 5 in REX 121 is maybe on its way back from Spyderco. I bought it used, it was dull so I sent it off for sharpening because free-handing REX 121 is above my pay grade. They charged me the expected $10 for shipping, and then $30 for something else apparently. I'm wondering what that's about but I'm willing to wait and see.
