I’ve worked blue collar a chunk of my life and always with utility knives, always snapping with a little lateral play. Finally find a cushy career, little extra money so i treat myself to a nice edc- now I’m a selectable character in mortal kombat

To be honest if I worked full time in an office, I don't know if I'd often carry a Spyderco to work. It'd probably always be my TRM Atom. Maybe sometimes I'd squeeze in my Native 5 or something. I could see the upcoming Sage 6 being a really good office carry though.

I've worked from home the past few years, when I was regularly going to my office I most often carried a PM2 or Manix 2. Most people around here aren't that sensitive to knives. If my knife was seen in the office it was in the process of opening a box or slicing an apple so it wasn't really out of place.

No pocket clips for me when I wore slacks so usually a delica if spyderco with clip moved. Jeans now so any spyderco will do.

Chaparral when traveling to the office for me. Slim, discreet and perfect for opening up packaging. Fits well in the inner pocket of a suit jacket too.
Just one more knife...

64% of the time I carry a S110V Manix 2 Lightweight and an Urban.
35% of the time I carry a S110V Manix 2 Lightweight and a Pingo.
Not very often, I carry something other than those two options.

I'm scheduled to work from the office 3 days a week and from home 2 days a week. I have other people scheduling me to be places that conflict from my normal schedule. When I have to get on a plane for work, I'm not usually carrying. :P

I have been rocking the Lil' Native slipjoint since I got it! Small, unobtrusive, and an ergonomic little cutting machine. I can't recommend it enough!

Either the Urban, Chaparral or Lil' Native.

I'm sharing my office with three female co-workers, and all of them assured me that neither of those knives is threatening to them.

I have worked in an office for almost ten years (till about 2018).

Like forum brother Palestrina I am from Austria, where we have pretty much zero restricting knife laws and so I just carried my most favorite and in my opinion most universally capable Spydies, which for me are always larger ones, ideally in Endura size.

Those can do any small office task perfectly well, but imo are just better than small folders in some other tasks that might occur (food prep....).

Also, there is the commuting to and fro the office and where I might go in lunch breaks or perhaps planned or unplanned directly after work without going home and switching out knives first.

Plus it does not hurt to be prepared for rare more or less serious emergency situations, here I'd also rather have a somewhat bigger knife on me.

And to be honest: If my colleagues in the office who should know me a bit have had felt threatened by me carrying a larger knife, something fundamental would have been wrong... I was just the friendly guy who happened to carry a large folder (which some considered to be weird, but not scary...some others even found a knife fits me well, cause I guess even when I worked in that office everything about me and my looks still screamed "outdoor guy"... ;) ).
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

2007-2019 I've been EDC-ing some flavor of Military. From 2020 onwards I've carried almost exclusively OTFs.

If the question is "what I use in the office?", the answer in two-fold: near people I already know and trust I have no qualms about using my main carry (OTFs included); whenever in doubt I simply use my 'office desk knife', a Kiwi with stag inlays received at the March 2011 :bug-red Amsterdam meet.

My office environment has a 0-tolerance policy on things that can be perceived as weapons. My office carry is a small traditional folder or some sort or a SAK.

We hear a lot about carry for outdoor use, general everyday use and specialty industries, but not a lot about office carry. What does everyone carry for a day at the office?

My office is pretty restrictive in blade length due to being a European-owned company, so my Manix XL and Police 4 have to stay at home. I’m also a bit of an outlier in the fact that though I’m mostly in an office setting, I do work in an industrial facility that has some areas that I need to work in that are rather hard on blade steels that have a lower level of stain resistance.

Because of these factors, I alternate between a PE Magnacut UKPK and a PE LC200N Salt 2 Wharncliffe. Most of my use is opening boxes with occasional zip tie cutting (I prefer to use a nipper for that if I have one handy). I find these knives perform well, don’t attract attention and hold up in areas that have caused light patina to form on S30v or Spy27.

Obligatory photo:

I guess I should read the policy, but I've worked for a couple of European owned companies, and don't remember them having any requirements outside the ordinary compared to competitors.
That said, I don't specifically flaunt my knives around the office so it's rarely even a concern, and I try to choose them to remain low key, and also save my pants from wear.

Found an old old photo that I had posted on the forum here years ago, so I'll just copy it over here of a handful of my favorites, many still to this day.

Also coincidentally, I never really looked into it, but I believe I've worked in some of the same facilities that the designer of the Ouroboros there has or had probably worked in also.

Office for me means jeans so I’ll carry two. A UKPK or Chaparral if I’m around knife-sensitive folks and something larger (PM2, Endela, Leafjumper) in the field.

In all honesty, the SE Chaparral is enough for 99% of my office days. I’ve been tempted to get nicer scales for it but the gray blends in with everything and the FRN texture is perfect if the need for grip goes beyond normal office type things.

My dining out knife is a MagnaCut UKPK with TiTech scales. A bit plain in appearance but unobtrusive to use in restaurants when the house knives are struggling cutting proteins or vegetables.

Back when I worked in an office for a few months around 2010, I carried a Police 3 and a Spin.

The spin opened letters and other misc tasks. The Police cut up apples in the lunch room and broke down cardboard.

Never had an issue, even with a no weapons policy in place.

Haha no insult, trying to play along. Your response made me laugh about the selectable character. I was trying to envision weapons used in MK and remember the one dude with the hat with like a blade around the rim
