The Endura
Re: The Endura
Endura in main pocket, dfly in 5th pocket. About all I carry now. Love the M4 variant once I dyed the scales darker. Excellent design that I immediately “got” as soon as I held it. Would love a variant with a Delica blade thickness.

Re: The Endura
I would absolutely love that too.
Re: The Endura
The Pacific Salt, Police 4, Military and Stretch 2 XL are keeping me from buying an Endura, since I consider them all to be preferable.
Maybe someday I'll decide I'm missing something and spring for the classic O.G...

Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Re: The Endura
Since you like the Pac Salt, you most likely should like the Endura too...
- If we are talking Pac Salt 2, the handle shape of the Endura is of course exactly the same, except the Pac Salt handle is actually a tad thicker - a pro in my book, since I notice that thicker handle in use, but not in carry.
On the flip side I prefer that the Endura is balanced more towards the handle and the more "heft" that comes from the steel liners (just the feel of this in hand and use, practically speaking the Pac Salt handle is absolutely strong and rigid enough).
- You might also like the a bit pointier tip of the Endura (but then one could always mod the Pac Salt tip in that direction) and the slightly narrower carry (opening hole smalle thus blade a bit less tall)
- Main pro of the Endura though are of course the steel choices the platform offers: To me for example the HAP40 variant is the absolute best PE folder I personally ever tried.

Let us see your dyed scales on this knife please...
Re: The Endura
Well, you make some good points. As it happens, I found a HAP40 Endura at a good price, so I went ahead pulled the trigger. An Endura is inbound! This is not the first time one of your posts has inspired me. As has Vivi, and David... and so on.Wartstein wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 10:31 pmSince you like the Pac Salt, you most likely should like the Endura too...

Re: The Endura
Thanks, I feel honored!
Though no doubt Vivi and David (and many others) have a lot more knowledge and experience than I do, when it comes to the HAP40 Endura I am confident that my inspiration/recommendation is a good one indeed.
Really cool knife in a great steel. As said already: My most favorite PE folder of all times and all brands so far.
The handle color is a bit controversial apparently, I happen to really like burnt orange though.
Should you never have owned a HAP40 / SUS 410 cladded blade: Be aware that the soft 410 scratches up extremely easy, while the HAP 40 on the lower part of the blade can develop a nice patina, especially if the knife is used for food prep.
I personally find it very cool that so the blade develops a unique and distinctive look over time ("scratch pattern" plus patina), but not everybody likes this.
Found an old pic of my own HAP 40 Endura (often used for food prep when mountaineering and hiking) that somewhat shows what I mean.
