You guys are sleeping on the Ulize. I thought I knew y'all 🤣

Look at this beast.

Image

It even has a ricasso and the handle isn't close enough to the edge and you all know how much I don't like that but it's still so cool.
I really love the hollow ground recurve blade of the Ulize. Adding it to the growing Grey G10 and Cruwear lineup would be a hit in my opinion.

Ultimately I think my vote is for more Ed Schempp designs. If that means starting with a Persian re-run, count me in. :cheap-sunglasses

I can't blame you, and I don't think I'd really be let down to see another Persian run instead.

I am actually surprised the Air has as many votes as it does. It was my vote, but I like small Wharncliffe. I did not think it would be so popular.

The Persian is gaining it on it though. If it weren't for rumored future Schempp designs, I would have voted Persian. Especially if it keeps the bolsters.

I could see either of those getting some cool scale materials. I think either of those models deserve some upgraded scale materials to highlight the design. Whereas something like the Ulize would probably do great with gray G10 and Cruwear.
Ulize would be cool, had one for some time. The hollow grind is excellent ! I fear that a Cruwear sprint would lose that, though, like on the Massad Ayoob or Centofante III...
I would probably guess you are correct on the hollow grind. I think if that model came up, we would have to set expectations as a flat grind and be pleasantly surprised if it was not.

If any Schempp designs gets redone, I'll be a happy camper.

I voted for the Worker because I’d love to own one for the collection but wouldn’t mind the Air or Goddard jr. winning either 😉

Almost 100 votes! That's great!

Air is still pulling away, but we have until Tuesday for the poll to close. I'm wondering if we do a run off with the top 3?

As much as I as I’d like any new sprint to be a salt, I think my favorite choice for a reissue would be a CF/S90v Worker. Unless that’s already been done and I missed it?

I voted C95. My backlock Manix 2 is one of my favorite knives. I only was allowed one vote, though. I would love a new run of the Air, but with a fixed detent system.

Some nice options, very tough choice, but in the end I went with the Goddard Junior.

Love my 4V Goddard, and I think that handle shape should work very well in a smaller format too (never even held a Junior myself though).

Also the long handle part in front of the guard is one of the best choke-up areas I´ve ever experienced (at least in my "regular" Goddard). I really like how "high" the index finger sits there (so NOT recessed like with many finger choils and with a lot of meat behind the finger).

Blade shape is very good too, and a slightly shorter closed package than a Delica but with a tad more cutting edge really nothing to complain about.

Would like to see it in that Micarta (does not have to be white though) and with a tip up option (not sure if the white Micarta Goddard Junior offered that - ??)
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

I voted Rookie, but with the caveat that it needs a hollow grind and swedge. None of this FFG nonsense.

Based on the Ayoob and Centofante releases I fear that may not be a possiblity. But I fully agree with you. I love the look and performance of a hollow ground blade. Some of these older designs just sing with it!

Exactly! That is what irks me with the reissues, they tend to get simpled down compared to the original models..

I think the 3 Lums were all fixed blades. I found them on Spyderco's discontinued page.
