Jeb's pix and mods

Police4 - Sprint run with the Micro Melt PD #1 Blade steel. I have more than a few of these too, this one sports aftermarket scales got from Dmitry in Ukraine,
DHCUSTOMKNIVES. Absolutely killer scales.
Only thing I did was to smooth out the spot right under the pressure point of the pocket clip, so as to make it over the lip of my pocket more easy. I shot a pic of it...
The Police4 is my most carried knife, if I only have one knife, this one with these scales is that knife. I bent the lip of the clip so it's a 1/4" out from the scales and that is it. I bend all my clips like this...
The Micro Melt PD #1 really takes a Razor sharp edge but it's hard steel as compared to the other steel available to this knife.
K390 is another great steel I have in the Police4, it just corrodes to easy here in the desert part of Texas when it's 100 plus outside. All you have to do is carry the knife in your pocket and the sweat vapor from my body does the rest.

LadyBug 3 - Yellow frn scales and H2 stainless alloy blade. This is a really little Munchkin of a knife, the H2 blade steel really hones great. That's a 5.56 NATO shell holding the knife up...

Great photos and very thoughtful/pragmatic mods! I really appreciate the amount of detail you put into the descriptions too. Thanks so much for sharing. I have a chief and a Siren and have thought about doing something similar to increase the accessibility of the opening holes.
Re: Jeb's pix and mods
Thank you, I am trying to put which ones they are for as the model name, then if I did any modifications to it and how I did them.
I have numbered each of the different knifes as they are listed and I am trying to keep a table of context at the top of my thread. Make it easier to find something in particular.

Re: Jeb's pix and mods
I'm a big fan of the 45 acp myself, it fits in the bigger thumbhole of our knives and props the knife up to help me get the lack of good light for a better pic.
I do a lot of Reloading for all my stuff. The lanyard 's are my on as well. I like this style best it's called a snake knot, and I've been using it exclusively on all sorts of things for a while now.
The spyders on the lanyard's I get off Etsy, they are cut from Titanium. I get them and clean and polish them to as close to mirror finish as I can, then flame color them.
Works great for zipper pulls on coats and jackets, flashlights and torches to just simple key rings that always seem to be at the bottom of my pockets, this lanyard hangs out of the pocket and I can grab my keys and go lol.
It all started for me on a pocket knife before we ever had a pocket clip lol. I used leather shoe strings when I was a kid lol. About the best thing we had for years.
Spyderco came along and really helped us all out. Been a few knives over the years that didn't have a lanyard hole and I had to get really good at sharpening my drill bits to get the hole drilled, but now most come with the hole. Although the latest Police4 Sprint run doesn't and I have been drilling mine lol...

Military 2 - Crucarta, this was my first attempt at snaking the canvas Micarta scales. Really just messed up a really nice set of scales lol...

Endura 4 - Zombie Green scales with VG10 steel. I installed the little finger ring. Really like this knife as a front pocket knife, back up to the bigger one of whatever I have in the right hip pocket.
Makes for a great combo. I have carried this knife a lot.
I added extra grip to the spine of the knife. I filed these in the blade lock bar right where your thumb ends up lol. I like for there to be twice as many, but never taken the time to hand file them in it... Even though this thing is a great knife.

Endura 4 - Titanium scales and the VG10- Damascus steel. I added the little finger ring to it for a clean quick pocket pull. The finger ring needs to be soda blasted or just removed all together jimo. Looks all jacked up. This knife could use 3/4" jimping on the back of the blade lock bar for your thumb...

Police 4 - K390 steel that I have had to buff hard to keep the rust off. I have plans to have it bead blasted and DLC coated. This is a work in progress knife.
The scales I replaced from a Police4 that had VG10 steel and black frn scales. The Police4 with VG10 steel and blue scales I rite dyed dark blue and gifted it lol. He loves the dark blue and it's his first Spyderco...
I cut extra traction on the back of the blade lock bar, for thumb grip. I filed these in by hand and they look like it, they look terrible but work great. Going to clean these up when I tear the knife down and send the blade off to be coated.

Police 4 - Sprint Run, these four new knives are for projects I am waiting on scales for. Going to drill the lanyard holes in them, big question there why they were never drilled.
The same sprint run in the Endura4 comes drilled, so it begs the question. Still have to drill those out bigger, to get my paracord pull strap through the knife; just seems odd they never drilled the Police4.
Lots of Burgundy colored scales to remove, hone everything and remove any sharp edges if they are in the wrong place.

Re: Jeb's pix and mods
Thanks man, I see things all over our forum and some of which I have no idea what model of Spyder I am looking at or what they have done, so I am trying to be more open if nothing but the model knife I am messing around with lol.
I got a text message from Dimitri, on my scales he has finished cutting out and getting shipped out, so shouldn't be to long now before I can put the sprint run Police4 's in progress of being completed.
Couple of them I am looking quite forward to seeing how they look once all done lol. Colors I have never done on any knife. At any rate, things are moving slowly; but moving...

Manix 2 - Forest Green G-10 Scales with CTS-204-P blade steel. First knife for me with this steel. I ended up cutting two full wraps of the ball cage spring off then closed the end of the spring. Much improved one handed operation now...
Nice looking knife, just doesn't look like the Forest Green I saw on the website lol. It's a little too much blue-green for me.
Edit: 2.22.2025 - I have dyed these scales black, tried to lighten the color but the G10 just was not giving up anything. The 5 minute bath in water, vinegar a dab of soap and a healthy gulp of black Rite-Dye, did the trick.
Now they are just plain as ever lol. Plain ol'e black. I sure wanted green out of this but black is better than what I had...
The top 3 pix shows the new color.

Re: Jeb's pix and mods
I have to agree about the color I was hoping Manix was going to be much darker green and have so far resisted buying one . I do have to ask how do do like the Mil 2 Crucarta so far ? I want a different steel in the Mil 2 and have a warm spot for Cruwear. DanJeb wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 1:15 pm# 20
