C95.
Yes ! I know , I expect getting razzed ! :smlling-eyes Dan
I know I beat this drum often but there isn't any classic model I'd rather see come back.

I'd want to keep it simple. Do it the same way they did the one and only sprint, except scale colors and possibly steel.

Fine jimping on the thumb ramp. No jimping on the index choil. Black pocket clip. Full flat ground 4mm thick blade. Skeletonized liners. Backspacer immaculately finished so it sits flush with the liners.

If it needed to be an existing color & steel combo, I'd vote jade G10 & M4, or gray G10 & Cruwear. This models deserves a tough steel if it isn't going to be brought back in S30V. I wouldn't say no to orange & rex45 or red & 4V either.

It's such an amazing model. I'd love to see how people react to it these days.
I know in my original post I mentioned the Chinook 1 and or 2, the Rookie, and a large Tim Wegner as a possible old school new release, but after going back through and rereading this thread I think @vivi C95 choice is a great one, I'd be all in on this one!

Maybe I'm wrong but the C95 seems like it would be an easier one for Golden to bring back compared to the hoops that were jumped through to reproduce and bring back the Ayoob, but I could be way off base here?

As for the steel, M4, Cru-wear, 4V, and even 3V, I'd be happy with anyone of these! G-10 scales, any color other than Black. My only request would be Dino jimping on the thumb ramp, I think it would be a nice old school Spyderco touch, I still have a few with the old Dino jimping and I really like it!

And I wouldn't turn down a serrated model in Cru-wear as long as it had the smaller / shallow scallops like the Ayoob.

What do you guys say? Sal?

I hope everyone understands how long this process takes and the need to nail down a particular model everyone can get behind ? Really think there is a need for a poll of models suggested pick two and then another vote of the top two . This of course still would need the approval so all is an uphill climb . I’m not trying to ruffle feathers just hope we can get some movement together in one direction. MG2

And you sir seem to be the perfect, well versed Spyderco historian to put this poll together! ;) I'm 100% behind you!

You are too kind buddy ! I would put JD at the top along with Mushroom. There are many others that qualify a head of me . I will try to glean through posts and compile a list on the thread of possible candidates . Dan

I would be inline for K2, I’m not steel picky so m4 would do for me.
Edited to say I like the Jess horn as well.

That tooling probably hasn't even cooled down yet by now it's been so recently disco'ed!
But I agree, DelWharnica in K390 is a legend already.

Yeah it seems like these "dream up your imaginary fantasy" type of threads always pop up regularly over the years, and it's a great way to see where minds are at and bounce ideas and memories around, but rarely are they all that much in uniform to even organize. Not that I'm discouraging it! ;)
Some member always seemed to get absolutely bummed out that they didn't get their exact way, haha...

But it seems like Spyderco and the Makers used to be much lighter on their feet years ago to be able to change direction and schedule things like this, much easier than how I perceive it today.

Now, today, I'm betting the easiest way to pursue something like this seriously would be to organize a group (maybe this thread!) of like-minded consumers and approach a distributor or retailer with a head count of interest ($) on a specific model/color/steel and see if they'd commission it up front as an exclusive.

Someone pointed out in another thread here recently that similar is going on on another site that's a spinoff of the old Massdrop, like a group discussion of crowdfunding, but they're currently doing a Spyderco knife. I can't remember the site right now off the top of my head, I didn't join it, yet.

The Air is one of the models I most regret missing, and a stainless option would IMO be even better than the original. I'd love a LW option too, since it's such a good design that it's appealing even without the "premium" cachet.

Are we talking any knife, so collabs, too?

The Slysz Bowie would be the obvious and reasonable choice then (at the original RRP pls. Thank you).

Ooh, that would be nice. Though there’s chatter about some Terzuola collabs in the pipeline. It won’t be the same as the GB1, but maybe they would be close?

I have a lot of Spyderco favorites, but possibly the one at the top of the list is the old style Police (just like the current C07S), but make one with G-10 scales and Magnacut steel, and I would buy both SE & PE versions. :smiling-hearts I will never ask for any others. ;)

I'm pretty sure I said this already but man I would really like to have a gray/Cruwear Ulize to go along with my Ayoob. I kinda see those knives as being in the same category and I really like the combo. I think the Ulize was a similarly polarizing design that deserves a second chance.

Surprisingly the Schempp Bowie didn't really seem to get the same love. It wasn't really a design for me, but I can see a vague relation in some design elements

I agree wholeheartedly. The Ulize is probably the model I most regret missing and Cruwear would be a great steel to bring it back in.

I’ve been away from this thread for a while, so I might be contradicting my earlier requests to some degree, but after securing a nice sample of a G-10 Rookie I’m thirsty for more of Spyderco’s compact classics.
Bradley Air, Jess Horn lightweight and Goodard Jr are some notable classics that have been mentioned already, there may be others as well.
Whatever I’ve said before (Junction etc..) still holds true, the above mentions just reflects my current state of mind :)
