First foray into the Byrds.
Decided to check out the Byrd line, this Raven is pretty good. Ended up getting a couple of Robins and a Meadowlark for gifts.

If this is your first foray into Byrds and have not explored serrated blades, then this a great opportunity to do so. IMHO, no collection is complete without a Byrd Hawkbill. Heck, a discontinued serrated Harrier 2 can be had for $25.00.

The Meadowlark actually is my no 1 gift-folder-to-people-who-are-not-into-knives-yet... great design in "unscary" size and with a good, thin blade.

My first foray into Byrds was a G-10 Robin 2. The action isn't as smooth or easy as my Dragonfly 2, but it is a little more hand-filling and more comfortable to use for anything beyond cutting tape. My second was a (now discontinued) Crow 2. I really like this knife! It is the perfect size, and Its handle shape is close to perfect. This is no surprise as it was designed by Sal Glesser. Unlike most other Byrds (and Chinese-made Spydercos), this one has CTS BD1 steel as just a little bonus.
I think the closest model now available is the Persistence: Chinese-made, liner-lock, same blade length, slightly longer handle, but no finger choil. It looks like a nice knife, but I prefer the choil and smaller closed length of the Crow. I wanted to get a Raven 2, but they've also been discontinued. The few I've found new had jacked up prices, and I haven't seen any good used ones.
