Image Young buck looking at a doe off screen in Mackinaw bottoms two days go taken by neighbor’s trail cam . Funny story . Yesterday was preparing to work in back of yard and noticed he had tripod with crossbow set up behind my garage . It was pointed to a target sitting on a chair in front of roll up shed door . I looked at wife and said Rick was taking a big chance shooting by the door . Sure enough he had already sighted scope at twenty yards and forgot to adjust to fifty before shooting. First shot was low killing the door ! 😂 Dan

Actually he is very analytical in many ways a perfectionist , after the oversight he had it dialed in . Neighbor isn’t a bad shot but his son is deadly at extreme range no meter what he has in hands . Dan

Man some bruiser bucks. I've seen deer on every sit but this morning. Does and young bucks so far. Warm days in the 60s aren't helping. Do have a coyote down.

I saw this guy watching over his harem while driving into work today. There was another one and his doe’s about 100 yds. away.

Driving home from work we have to watch out for elk and deer herds on the road after dark.

Wow that muley just heards his ladies up in a parking lot? It’s crazy how absent minded they get with love on the brain 😉

The company sits on 55 acres of land in the foothills with a reservoir to the east, so we see a lot of deer and elk at certain times of the year. They're probably living back and forth between the mountains and the reservoir depending on the time of the year. There are hundreds of turkey's and an occasional bear there too, so you never know who's going to wander by. ;)

Well one of our group got a real nice 10. Also one of the targeted bucks we had was taken by a neighbor. Was a 23pt total i believe. We have a nice symmetrical 12 I'm hoping shows up for my daughter this weekend.

ImageBuddy has sixty acres of reclaimed coal mining timber he purchased years ago outside of Havana , Illinois. Mike has a deer camp on property and went out to clean camper and check sign over weekend. This is a shot of stand he put up near a creek which has done well for him over the years . Dan

That's a nice one! Congrats to him.

Had another hunter shoot a buck, didn't feel good on the shot so recovered him the next morning.

Apparently our resident mountain lion claimed it, chewed on the back quarter, then buried it in the leaves for later. Drug it up the hill about 20 yards.

Same area my daughter and I were stalked by a big cat while night hunting hogs. Had cat at 40 yards on my thermal and it paced us for about 100 yards and was crouched down like a house cat with its big ol tail sticking up...

We have some confirmed sightings in Illinois of Mountain Lions . I actually saw one cross a gravel road in the bottoms at night with two other people in the truck and this was several years ago . MG2
