Hello everyone,

It'll soon be a year since we starting discussing this full sized Native slipjoint. We mentioned clips, etc, and Sal has said that it may get closer to happening the next summer, depending, and that time has came and gone now.

I'm wondering if there is any more news on this one? I am still very keen on the idea and, with the way laws are changing everywhere, as well as more love than ever for the UKPK, I'm thinking this new model would be very popular indeed!

I’ve just read through this thread from end to end and I really hope we see one of these in the future. Fingers crossed for SE (the only reason I haven’t picked up the Chap slipjoint thus far is it is only in PE).

I think about this thread more than I should. Every time I use my Natives now I have a little thought in the back of my mind how perfectly suited the Native 5 design is to be a slipjoint. I'm sure at the current r&d pace it'll be 3-5 years before anything becomes of this, but I'll be waiting patiently.

I recently acquired a Native 5 lightweight and couldn't help but notice how well it would seem to suit a non-locking version (which led me to this discussion). I'd be very interested in adding a Native 5 Slipit to my collection if one was available.

It should be a relatively easy job to mod the lock bar with a dremel or angle grinder?

It would be lovely to see this one getting off the ground in memory of the original user, Danzo (Dan Sharpe) who has recently died.

In case anyone reading this doesn't know the background story, Sal mad a prototype, many years ago now, and gave it to Danzo to try out ~ a full sized Native Slippie with orange G-10 scales as that was Dan's favourite colour in a knife handle. He commented on his unique Native many times, always positively, over on British Blades.

Total support. Would love to see more varieties of blade shapes on slip joints as we’ve had the UKPK line for a good while. Even now it seems the leaf blade variety is only on the base model and not on ones with magnacut/lc200n etc. Love mine but happy to see and carry some more variety☺️
UKPK every carry.
