Not an amazing picture of it, but I took a torch to a few standard polished spoon clips in search of a flame-blue-bronze color for this beast of a pocket knife. Not sure why, but neither of the two clips I toasted really showed much color development at all - they just went from shiny chrome to red hot and then dull grey. Maybe it's because I used a MAP torch instead of my butane camp stove this time? Whatever, still looks cool and tough as heck, with notably less shiny-ness and notice-my-pocketknife effect when clipped. Recommendations for better color development in the clip welcomed.

Go super slow... Gold/Bronze comes first then blue/purple. You may be able to Fitz the ano off and try again. I did this hardware with a low heat propane flame

This is best advice, lower temps have best results . I also heat backside instead of front and have gotten better colors. MG2

Out of interest, what was the discount?

Nothing crazy, a 11% discount on Singles’ Day (11.11). For me, as a family guy who watches every penny, saving 40 Euros is still a win!

I've been eyeballing Lamnia for the last couple of days but their pricing is insane as usual.
Glad I didn't pull the trigger as I've found last night an offer from another European dealer, so just got my S90V XL Para :winking-tongue for 287.58 EUR

Ah of course, missed that one. Every saving is a good one! I pre ordered the Mili weeks ago. It's hopefully arriving tomorrow.

Cool! Mine also was on preorder at the time, should be same batch as yours. Looking forward for it.

The day has arrived 🎉🙏 The M2 is very well build with nicely finished carbon fiber scales and that incredible s90v blade. The compression lock is one of my favorites and it continues to be also on a knife of this size. The new finger choil, similar to the PM2, makes it more comfortable when choking up. Well done to the Golden team 💪🙏

Below a comparison between the original Millie and PM2 in that special combo of s90v and carbon fiber.

Congrats! Mine just showed up today too. Looks like a great knife! Haven’t had time to mess with it or snap some pics yet, but I’ve got a feeling that out of my three CF S90V musketeers (the other two being the Native Chief and Siren), the M2 is taking the top spot.

Can’t wait for the salt version!

2 immediate thoughts:
- I still hate the #megachoilofdoom
- Spyderco has utterly, totally, completely lost their ability to properly sharpen up until the heel of the blade

Apart from that, seems like a fully functional knife, I have no regrets buying it.

The worst part is how much steel you have to remove when fixing it in order to even the bevel out.

It seems like they're sharpening further away from the heel on more recent knives, especially the newer Military and Military 2 models. The older pre-CQI Military models were much closer to the heel, but they must have changed the sharpening process.
