New Spyderco owner

#1

Post by Nik74 »

Hi everyone. I've been lurking on the forum while looking to get my very first Spyderco knife for some time. Well, a few hours ago, I received my PM3 by mail. I got (I think) a very good deal from Blades Canada on a maxamet PM3. I'm very pleased with my puchase. The blade is scary sharp ans centered. Love the look of the blade and the color of the G10 scales. I don't mind that it's not really stainless because I care for my knives a lot. Got a few Civivis and my first premium knife was a Kizer Militaw in S45VN, Ti ans fat carbon handle then got the PM3. Probably won't my last Spyderco.

Enjoy, I have one and love it. Only had a small chip so far that was very easy to sharpen out. I agree the scales are very good looking, darker than pictured.

Congrats
I have been on a buying spree the last month after not buying many knives for the last couple of years. All spyderco. My first one was a Delica in the mid 90s and I am still a big fan. I have one para 3 in M390 and find it to be a great design.

He's a construction worker with no knowledge of good knives. After he opened it up and said yes it is nice, I said, do not pry with it, it is Maxamet steel, very good steel, and the knife is worth around $250US!

He was a bit shocked that I would give it to him for FREE. I am poor. I live in a home purchased by my parents, with my mother, and I collect knives.... I used to work in construction and only once did anyone give me something. I never forgot it!

My mother broke her hip around 2 weeks ago and will be in rehab for another 5 weeks. I told her, make it back home and we will go to church every week to celibrate!

What good is a knife collection if you cannot give a knife to a poor man?

When I started to study escrima and arnis, Filipino bladed arts, top instructors always gave me folders!

Thank you!

I try to be kind. I work on it every day.

My mother broke her hip, and I am her full-time caretaker. I will be visiting her in rehab evey day for a while. I try to be better every day. I try to understand everything that she goes though every day.

Welcome to the forum. That's awesome that you bought that knife. The PM3 is a really nice little knife. It is very much like a custom knife.
