If both or one of these had to be in the Byrd line with 8Cr13MoV budget steel I would still be satisfied and happier than a hog in a trough of donuts or a hillbilly in a field of roadkill or a Chicagoan in a room full of deep dish pizza.

Out of curiosity, why a mini aqua salt instead of simply re-issuing the old version?

Because a sub 4 inch blade would be more compact and legal to carry in states that have the no blades 4 inches or longer rule.

Stretch XL Salt is pretty close for a 365 EDC, but truth be told it's the same size as a Pacific Salt, which is the smallest folder in my rotation.

So my dream knife would be a slightly bigger salt, like a Police. That's the perfect size for my grip & blade length preferences.

I stand by my post from a year ago. Pacific XL, Police Salt, Tatanka-Who-Swims-With-Fish....call it whatever you want. I'm gonna keep beating this drum.

Gotcha. Gotta admit I sometimes forget most people have blade length restrictions where they live. I'm not used to having to worry about that where I am.

I could see your proposal being nice for horizontal carry. The regular Aqua Salt isn't terrible carried that way, but it's a little longer than optimal.

Great point. And like you know it is one of the best practical and utilitarian fixed blades. Sal and the crew made a winning knife with that. The other fixed blade model I see knife users wanting a return of is the Spyderco Vagabond, perhaps in a more updated steel and blade configuration.
