That's the beauty of cats, they have a mind of their own. Mine will come to me to cuddle. Cats are also very hygienic so where does the smell come from? Besides the litterbox of course I love dogs but the smell of them especially when wet
That isn't beauty to me. :) A dog will try to struggle up from it's death bed to go out with the owner as it thinks it's his/her job but cats aside from rodent ( sometimes bugs) killing ( and torture) it only offers home vandalism and demands attention when it desires.
I'm in my 60's now and have had pets all my life. I began with an attitude like yours. When I was first married and had no kids I ended up with 3 cats. Later after raising up my kid and having many generations of dogs as well as cats I still find cats to be cute and cuddly but nothing more. Definitely not worth the trouble and expense. I had one live over 20 years and as life will have it the one that was that old was the craziest and most troublesome one. The nice ones died relatively young at about 14.

Absolutely! Dodo likes small places to sleep . If she is missing usually find her in one of her three tier containers sleeping . She is definitely my granddaughter’s cat only , not very social with anyone else , after growing up in her bedroom to avoid daughter’s Pugs in her old home . Since moving she has free access in new house and much happier but still vey skittish. Sweet cat but different. Dan

Ginger female cats are sort of rare. About a 15-20% of all ginger cats are female.
Every time we went to the pet shelter to donate food, toys and blankets or sheet’s for the dogs or cats I used to always say to the Mrs “we can get another cat if it’s a female ginger” knowing they were uncommon. Above is a result of their first one in 7 years
Im a vegetarian as technically cows are made of grass and water.

Beautiful and precious. Like a mini lion. I love the regal pose.

We rescued 3 feral sisters that were about 5 weeks old right at the start of covid... they are def a bit odd and wild, but they can be affectionate when they aren't being little turd heads. The runt finds me once a day for pets. Usually in my office when I'm on calls and she demands belly rubs. She also loves carbs, chicken wings, and apple pie. Her bigger chonkier sisters prefer treats and will rarely eat people food.
They were cute little kittens and grew up quick but they're still inseperable. Have 3 daughters so they each have their own. Sprinkles, Pickles, and Skittles... I still question my decision making lol

My cat Patch is also a feral , very loving and quite the talker . He loves my great granddaughter (3) and follows her around the house . Nice looking trio ! You did well ! Dan

Definite cat person here! Sadly, my current circumstances don’t allow me to have a cat, and one is sorely missing from my life. Thanks to everyone who has posted about their cats!
I'd say I like cats and dogs equally but for our lifestyles at home cats are just way easier, they're more independent than dogs and just easier to take care of. We've always had 2, I think it's kind of cruel to only have one dog or cat, they need a buddy to bond with especially when you're not around. We had one pair that were close in age, one made it to 14 years and the other to 13 and we also had a Chihuahua around the same time that also made it to 14. They were the 3 Amigos, we had them each cremated. It was super hard losing them all.
Now we have 2 kitties, both were stray/rescues. One looks like it's almost all Manx, has no tail and most of his litter and his mother didn't have tails, and the other one has a little bobbed tail. They're quite the pair.
