I have a Delica and I am having trouble researching information about the metal used in the blade and the alloys used to "strengthen" the blade.
Can anyone help me with this or refer me to any websites? Or are there any books that I could purchase?

The metal is stainless steel. Unless it is an extremely old Delica, the name of the steel should be marked on the blade tang, under the Spyderco name. Whatever the steel is, it will be included in this Steel Chart. Not all the steels on the chart have been used by Spyderco, but all the steels ever used in a Delica are on the chart. If by chance it's a fairly old one and marked G-2, the steel is actually GIN-1 which is in the chart. Not sure if the very first ones, before the steel was marked were GIN-1, AUS-6 or AUS-8.

http://www.edcknives.com/vcom/knife_knowledge.php And look for the Steel FAQ. That's not specific to the delica, just overall steel information, but it might be useful.
