since my wife consistently steals my Manbug and says it's "ours" so she doesn't need her own knife.
Sounds like my Cat. Sometimes it's lost, sometimes it's in a drawer, sometimes it's in the bottom of her purse. When I see it on the counter every few months it's like seeing an old friend that needs to be sharpened haha.
She has a Ladybug and SAK Tinker on her keys and in her purse! We both definitely love the Manbug though. So impressed with it for it's size these past couple years, everyday in my pocket at home. I'm just kind of itching for a new knife since this is the longest I've gone without buying one since I got serious about the hobby...100% this forums fault btw haha!

I've lost a couple dragonflies that way. One generally lives in the junk drawer and I think she's got one in her purse and either in her car or at her desk at work, maybe both?

Any idea what the blade thickness is going to be? I'm hoping it's similar to the Chapparal.

I am so excited for this one! I love my Dragonflys, but would like a slightly larger lockback. I think this knife will fit the bill...

Any rumors on when it will be available?

The lil native LW looks address all my minor points that I had with the G10 version:
Lighter weight
Thinner behind the edge
Forward choil jimping

It has all the hallmarks of being a grail in terms of work / general use as it ticks a ton of boxes for me.
Looking forward to seeing some better steel though to be honest (not that there’s anything particularly wrong with BD1N).

A few Quick questions:

Will it have PB washers?

What kind of liners will it have?

When is it coming out?

It weighs 1.5 ounces according to the catalog, so I'd guess no liners. Since no liners, I'd assume no washers either. As far as when it comes out, that's not usually a question that gets answered until it starts shipping.

If you're eager for something new, the FRN Chaparral ticks a lot of the same boxes.
The Chaparall is CTS XHP steel and has liners and washers.

I already own and regularly use a FRN Chaparral - it’s one of my favourites folding knives of all time.

One of the best features of the Lil native though that sets it aside from the other small lock knives Spyderco offer is it’s compression lock. I think works so well with the design; easy once-handed opening and closing, hence my enthusiasm for this upcoming model.

My guess would be it had the partial front-liner and single Pb washer as seen in the para 3 LW but could be wrong considering the weight is only 1.5 ounce.

Prime candidate for some AWT scales maybe…

Oh dear I failed to see that. :spiral-eyes …I assumed it was a compression locking mechanism.

That’s a deal breaker - the comp lock is the main reason I like the Lil native.
Aside from the lower weight I’m better catered for by The Chaparral I already own. Oh well just saved me a few quid at least …every cloud and all that. :smlling-eyes

Funny, I had the Lil Native compression lock for a couple weeks a few years ago and found the compression lock to be the reason I didn't like the knife haha! I'm excited to give it a try now with the thinner blade and back lock :cheap-sunglasses

I tried the compression lock Lil Native at a store when they first came out. I found the lock hard to manipulate because of the knife's small size, which is why I never bought one. I'm excited to try the Lil Native LW backlock with thinner stock though, as I'm okay with knives like the Chaparral and Dragonfly.

Not for nothing but compression locks can be operated in a way that is so similar to backlocks, that it might as well be considered the exact same action…

Honestly this is the way I operate the comp lock on my Lil Natives, I use my thumb to depress the comp lock with a little bit of sideways movement, but the motion is so miniscule that it doesn't feel dissimilar to operating a backlock with my thumb. In fact, it's much easier to depress with my thumb than most backlocks.

Being a leftie also makes the action much, much easier since the thumb lateral movement goes to the left side.
