I’ve been eyeing the Jumpmaster 2 a long time wanting a nice fixed blade with serrations. Then the Temp sprint was announced with a serrated version. Oh how I loved my old VG10 one.
Just for slicing performance and edge retention what do you think?
4m FFG Cruwear
3m HG H2
I expect serrated H2 will be close to as durable as Cruwear with similar edge retention (or maybe a tad less). The geometry seems it will be much better on the Jumpmaster 2 based on the blade stock and grind type. That seems it will close the gap on any extra carbide advantage of Cruwear. I’m not a huge fan of FFG with thick blades in general but the Temp is weird and retro wonderful.
I know the rustproof perk is not to be ignored. It’s just not a deciding factor. Also I understand either knife will have edge retention for eons and be literal cardboard machines.
Thanks!
Cruwear Temp or Jumpmaster 2?
Re: Cruwear Temp or Jumpmaster 2?
You and I both Brother!!! You and I both!!! If any of you have ever handled and used the original TEMP 1 model and seen how perfectly ergonomic the handle is and how unbelievably useful that blade design is>> then you know it's a "NO Brainer"..
And believe me I have nothing at all against either one of the JUMPMASTER models. I've never owned or used a JUMPMASTER but I have handled them a couple of times at gun shows in the past two years. And I might just get one at some point.
However with a TEMP 1 with a Cruwear blade being on the horizon it will be way down the road I can assure you.
BLERV this is thee best SPRINT RUN since the Cruwear C-60 Ayoob from two years back IMO. Get both the PE & SE and you won't regret it. And with a Cruwear blade the increased performance improvement will be awesome!!
Re: Cruwear Temp or Jumpmaster 2?
Yea JD, I’m thinking that too. Maybe the real move is the Temp, custom Kydex sheath and regrind. Hmm…
Re: Cruwear Temp or Jumpmaster 2?
I use a Jumpmaster 2 for my one and done work knife. I will certainly be buying an SE Temp. My vote in answer to your question would be - both
The only downside of the Jumpmaster is how narrow the handle is, which makes it a bit less comfortable to bare down on. I suspect the Temp will have a fuller handle which will make for a more comfortable experience over a few hours.

Re: Cruwear Temp or Jumpmaster 2?
Thank you for the input! It does seem the Jumpmaster falls more into the slab handle construction. The Temp being more of a “designed in the dark” model. It is a very nice handle.JoviAl wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 2:16 amI use a Jumpmaster 2 for my one and done work knife. I will certainly be buying an SE Temp. Re: Cruwear Temp or Jumpmaster 2?
Don’t get me wrong - it’s not uncomfortable to use per se, but it doesn’t fill the hand as much as a more traditional rounded profile handle. What it does do with great aplomb because of its fairly slim width is disappear under clothing or even into a pocket. I like that at work I can be wearing it IWB and stroll off the site into a meeting with members of the public and nobody bats an eyelid as it’s flush to my skin under my shirt. If it is -2 points for long term hacking comfort it is easily +20 for ‘doesn’t cause a sheeple freakout’Blerv wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 6:46 pmThank you for the input! Re: Cruwear Temp or Jumpmaster 2?
I would absolutely recommend a Jumpmaster, but both is a good idea also.
Re: Cruwear Temp or Jumpmaster 2?
Saw this video on the jumpmaster where Eric highly praised it and mentioned hrc up to 67 on the serrations. I like the overall look/design on the temperance better, but jumpmaster does seem like a no nonsense shtf knife
