Purple loctite for loose pivot screw???
I disassembled my Ayoob to clean it. Also I polished the ramp and lock tang with 4 micron diamond paste. I highly recommend polishing your lockbacks. The action is silky smooth now.
Anyways, now it's been loosening up repeatedly on the pivot screw and lock bar screw.
Is purple loctite best? Or what threadlocker is recommended?

I use 242. I think you're talking about 222. Use whatever you have on the shelf. If you have to go out and buy a tube, buy whatever you'll have the most use for. It's not super-critical.

I like 243, which some folks say is purple. Avoid Red.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

243 is oil resistant and medium strength. I tend to use the blue stick for convenience, but 243 is a good choice.

Old, make do when you don't have any Loctite, is a piece of a rubber band. Just screw the threads right over the rubber band and it acts as a buffer to keep the screw from backing out.
Serves in a pinch, till you get the Loctite, the blue or 242 as mentioned is a soft set, is best for those screws you may need to remove at some point.

Personally I prefer the Vibra-Tite blue gel pump, which I think is the 125. Purple is okay too, just have better luck with the gel in my experience. Just don't use the red and you should be okay.
Re: Purple loctite for loose pivot screw???
Purple is the weakest of the 3 (red-strong, blue-medium, purple-weak) - I only use it with very tiny screws. With knives I have used so far blue and did not have a problem to remove the screw later, but give it a try, maybe the purple will be enough.

I've been using blue Loctite for years. Started with 243 and switched to a stick of blue 248 Loctite. Cannot recommend a stick enough! Makes it so much easier to apply.

Whatever you have on hand will probably work as long as it's not the super strong stuff (red and some types of green are far stronger than you want on a small fastener). If it doesn't say medium strength or lower, stay away.
If you're buying, the blue stick is highly recommended. Not too strong for knives but strong enough for most daily uses. And the stick form is awesome, far less waste and mess.

A little bit of plumber's teflon tape wrapped around the pivot screw can also be effective if you don't want to use loctite.

Re: Purple loctite for loose pivot screw???
Over the last 30 or so years that I have been repairing Spyderco knives for customers (replaced a pocket clip or screw, tightened a screw, taken apart and reassembled for cleaning, adjust a pivot, etc.) I have always used red Loctite Threadlocker. Based on the hundreds of Spyderco, Benchmade, CRKT, Kershaw, Zero Tolerance, Buck, Gerber, etc. knives that we have worked on (an average 3+ per week) with loose or lost screws, they either have no Loctite (60%) or have blue (40%). This is why we always use red. Very, very rarely does a knife come back that we have worked on (and we see quite a few repeats especially for bent clips) that the screws have loosened with red Loctite. What seems most important when adjusting screws is to use a quality Torx bit (we prefer Wiha) and make sure it is properly seated in the screw head by tapping on the end of the driver with a light hammer (I have a 1”x1”x4” piece of bronze) as this helps to prevent the driver from camming out and damaging the screw head. If the screw will not budge with a moderate amount of force, we then apply heat via a soldering iron to break the hold of any Loctite. Two Cents!

A two dollar value for only two cents?!
That's the best deal on the internet today.
A whole lotta good advice right there.
