Not sure how many of these Sprint Run knives are left but I just bought another Spyderco Native Chief in M390, Satin direct from Spyderco. I may buy another one or two over the next 60 days if they are still for sale.

M390 is a great steel! :party-face

Nice buy. I really enjoy the Native Chief as well. It’s a large knife with a very slim carry. I also have the M390 version, the REX45, and the S90V which I find the handle a little too slick. I am still holding out hope for a 52100 version.
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.

I was going to snag an S90V and at least one M390. I inquired a week to 10 days ago, and BladesCanada must have sold their last S90V model right after they responded to me. I want backups to all of my Native Chiefs. And the more that I think of it, I may snag more than one backup to each model.

I'll just have to wait for copies to pop up on AZ Custom Knives.

This is an excellent folder!

Your enthusiasm for Native Chiefs is contagious. Even though I already have two (m390 and s90v) and don't carry them often, I still find myself wanting more. :winking-tongue

Thank you! That is a nice compliment.

I have been carrying my S90V Native Chief since the day it arrived here. Fine knife.

I searched high and low for knives that suited me. At one time I owned almost $20,000 in knives. I saved the best and sold off almost 50% of them. They had too much belly up near the tip and did not offer good slash and thrust potential. I've studied escrima and arnis, martial arts that use empty hands and edged weapons. I've studied how the body moves and strikes/slashes with knives and blunt instruments. It took a long time to find good self defense knives. They are very rare.

Simply put there are NOT a lot of knives that will do in a pinch, when you are trapped and have 2 to 4 guys attacking you and you want to live, you need the right tool. I have been in a situation that almost descended into a full on mele with 4 opponents and all that I had was a small 2 inch or smaller knife, and did not have the profile of the Spyderco Native Chief. Luckily when I drew the knife that I had, they backed off. I am very careful about what I carry now. Do not waste your time considering a lessor knife.

The Spyderco Native Chief is the right tool for tough jams.

I contacted Blades Canada and they must have had at least one S90V Native Chief in stock, but before I could make the purchase somebody bought the last of the remaining stock.

I bought one more in M390 Native Chief direct from the Spyderco website and I may buy 1 or 2 more if they are there when I go to buy them. M390 is an awesome steel. Get them while Spyderco has them in stock! It sure beats trying to track them down at AZ Custom Knives or on other sites.

I did not see an S90V Native Chief. I think you speaking about the M390 model being available....AND I BOUGHT ONE!!! "SC-244GPDBNBK SPRINT RUN NATIVE CHIEF WITH 3 5/8" BLACK COATED, PLAIN EDGE M390 BLADE. 5 1/8" CLOSED. BROWN G-10 HANDLES WITH BLACK METAL POCKET CLIP. LOCKBACK DESIGN. $203.00." How did they acquire the coated M390's? I may never know, but it looks real! Now I have 4 or 5 - M390 models and I'll get a few more.

I'll try to pick up a couple more M390 and S90V variants before they disappear forever. I'll also pick up a couple Magnacut variants.

The Spyderco Native Chief in M390 that I just received direct from Spyderco was excellent. It has great action, and is probably even flickable. I never flick open my knives, because in a pinch you do not want to drop a knife. I'd have to practice opening the knife flicking and that can be hard on the knife, which is an investment in self defense. I can easily open it with one hand though, and there are ZERO FAULTS WITH THIS KNIFE.
