Fish Hunter
I have been looking for years for a Spyderco Fish Hunter. I've been scammed and I'm starting to lose hope. Is there anyone who knows where to find one or can sell me one? I'd be more than ecstatic. It's a perfect knife for my needs. Thanks guys.

I’m in the same boat as you in searching for one (to no avail as yet). Seems that it was much more of a user knife than a collector’s piece, and is now rarer than hen’s teeth (on account of most of them being in use).

Re: Fish Hunter
Have you considered the Jumpmaster 2 - it’s functionally similar but a smidge more blade and a full tang. It’s a real do-anything knife - I use the absolute snot out of mine at work (I’m literally taking a break from pruning some Malaysian Dwarf coconut palms with it as I write this).

Re: Fish Hunter
Mine’s not for sale, but the thread needs pics! It’s not a knife I see discussed much and truthfully I didn’t know it was discontinued. I was about to suggest the Enuff 2 until I got them out for size comparison. Didn’t realize the FH was that much bigger — especially in the handle.

Beautiful knife. Yours looks very lightly used if any use at all. I am thankful to say my efforts to find one were successful. I joined this forum in hopes to find one for sale and that's exactly what happened. Bentoboxshop in California has a few in stock and I ordered one. They reached out to me after seeing my post and let me know they had some so I ordered one before they were gone. I'd hate to miss out. Bentoboxshop was very helpful with the ordering process and shipping. I'm excited to receive it for sure!

I may be Blades Canada's ultimate fan boy. Or, just the guy that posts up that Warriors and Wonders/Blades Canada is showing 4 Spyderco Fish Hunter in stock. And, I am surprised that the Catcherman has not sold out.

Re: Fish Hunter
Sounds like time for another production run. H2 Steel this time around since the thin dagger profile needs extra toughness.
Personally I would like to see a full double edge instead of the false edge for legal compliance, perhaps with the serrations on the spine.
And a better scabbard. It sort of held the knife if you accidentally put it in backwards, but with very little retention. After running a short distance I was lucky to find it when I backtracked an hour later with a bent point I had to carefully tap straight; a testament to the toughness of W1. Unfortunately being run over a few times chewed up the handle a little, but that was enough to keep the scabbard engagement tabs from working even when inserted correctly It is set aside until I can make or get made a new scabbard.
With the dagger blade profile, the sheath needs to be able to securely hold no mater which direction the primary edge is in, IMHO.
IIRC Sal said that the mod a forumite did would be used when there was another run, making the Trademark Hole large enough to function as a wrench for the arrowhead or whatever it was called so that the fish could be removed from the shaft of the tool. I don't remember what variety of projectile or spearfishing it was though.

I was able to order one and now I'm a very proud owner. It's a fantastic knife with great ergonomics. The tip is a bit bendable but nothing I would consider fragile. You just have to mind that and not pry anything with it. I got mine from BentoBoxShop and they were really responsive and shipped it from California to Alabama in 2 days.

Re: Fish Hunter
The problem is, the Fish Hunter uses the same handle mold as the Aqua Salt, which was reworked from the Vagabond and the molds are worn out. Sales apparently didn't justify making new molds, so another run is unlikely to happen.

Re: Fish Hunter
Did you all know there is a fake counterfeit Fish Hunter going around? If I can find the listing I can post it in the counterfeit section of the forum. Lousy fakers. It looks stamped out from cheap metal.
Re: Fish Hunter
BTW, Blades Canada has both the Aqua Salt in SE or PE and the Fish hunter still in stock. Just got one of each lol.
