All I'm sure of is that I want to get a taste of REX121.
But I can't make up my mind which knife I'd like to see it in.

I bet we'll see a REX 121 MULE out of Taichung revealed sometime this year.

As was with 15V, I'm surprised that the MULE has been shelved as the first taste to market of these upper echelon super steels. I hope Spyderco isn't coming to the conclusion that this level of super steels aren't worth the investment for the MULE Team, anymore.

I hope so - the 15V mule has been a really reliable and worthy knife in my stable, and another super-hard tool steel like REX121 would be a welcome flavor to try.

I’d get one only because of FOMO, it’s a real thing. But you all are masochist requesting this one. It’s gonna be painful sharpening this one.

I would wonder why, but I would likely buy one because Rex 121 is the king of steels.

Just got some great new scales so of course I need a new mule to put it on. This could be awesome, maybe not the best steel for a fixed blade but an awesome steel.

I am also curious about the rumored MagnaTough steel.

Uh. I think I can post this? Sal, I'll show you my own tax returns if you have actual questions here. Just you. I trust you enough with that one if it's necessary to gain the required trust and respect.

@WilliamMunny If you want me to mail you a rex 121 test material type deal, just tell me what you want done with it and I have enough that I could send ya it to find out it's really not that special. Taking my word for it doesn't work. Also, Same with magnacut I have even more of that. Your own personal heat treatments you can tell me whatever you want done or I can give you my recommendations on both. Grind angles. Whatever. I try to help when I can although I'm a bit busy I'll make time. Anyone who says they can't is making an excuse.

*THIS IS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM ADVERTISING I WILL NOT ACCEPT MONEY BESIDES SHIPPING COSTS OFF MY OWN PRINCIPLES*

This is what I do. Test alloys. Not affiliated with Spyderco whatsoever. It's not a job it's a hobby. I specifically keep it at that which isn't easy.
