#1

Post by Dmitry »

Forgive me to be slightely off-topic, but...

I own already twoo Chinooks, love this knife and carry it with me some times

My question is what does it name - Chinook means? I know that it's name of American Indian tribe, also that it's a name of warm wind from Rocky Mountains, also there is such helicopter

So what does Chinook means in connection to knife?

Chinook is also a salmon. As for what it means for the knife, the chinook indians are from the same area as James Keating, the man who designed the knife. I agree. it's a great knife, I carry mine everyday. If they came with an ambidextrous clip, i'd carry two of them.

Here is a clip from one of many websites relating to "Chinook Jargon".

Chinook: a band of Salish natives who live along the Columbia River in Washington state; a simple language of the Pacific Coast of North America based on an amalgamation of words and expressions from Chinook, Nootka, English, and French languages.

The fish also has a nose shaped very much like our beloved swept bowie.

I have been waiting very patiently for a new clip design. I am so hoping they account for tip UP. I know, I'm one of the few (but dedicated, tip UP!)
