I am a terrible sharpener, so don't judge but every thick knife I have does so much better with a thinner edge. Unless you are cutting cardboard or food you may never notice. This one had teeny tiny bevels and was not really that sharp, so I went straight to sharpening this one. And I typically do not do that before using it.

Yesterday’s carry. I love that this knife works just as well as an edc as it does an ultralight backup. Yesterday it was my mtb ride buddy and my afternoon chore buddy.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Paul, I would love to see some more pics of your Ishtar when you get a chance.Paul Ardbeg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 2:37 amGot this one yesterday. Herman knives Ishtar. Pictures don't do it justice, it's such a stunning knife.
Especially get a look at that floating backspacer.
Btw, is the blade steel on yours M398?

My Ishtar doesn't have the floating backspacer. Also not sure if the Ishtar comes with a floating backspacer. Steel is M390. Below a screenshot of the Dragonfly #26 with floating backspacer and "jimping" on the spine. Herman changes it up quit a bit for each itteration, even the thickness of the blade can differ.MacLaren wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 7:36 pmPaul Ardbeg wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 2:37 amGot this one yesterday.
