yeah. i think this is one most of us need to have in our hand to really realize how great it is, just because it's so different from most other knives we're used to carrying. it's kind of like a more modern folding nessmuk.
Ha! you are right. It does have a very similar blade profile. Never noticed that.

wow! that is a well-loved astute. it's always nice to see some of the less-featured knives show up here. the astute is a great design.

The Astute is awesome - I originally bought it as a relatively inexpensive knife to travel with; no worries if I hit unexpected security and have to toss it, that sort of thing. But once in hand it really impressed me, and I end up carrying and using it day-to-day more than I expected.

My experience exactly. It gets a lot of carry time when I leave the house and need a smaller blade and a platform that won't scare the civilians. It is the one value folder that I love in the way I love the flagship models.

May I ask what clip you have on there? I never change Spydie clips as I find them the best on the market, but the stock clip is a bit large for the Astute.

YES! Even just a steel upgrade would be wonderful. I don't know if VG10 can get sent to China without prohibitive cost, but that would be amazing.
