Strengthening scandi grinds

#1

Post by RugerNurse »

One of my favorite knives is the Mora pro in stainless steel. Great handle and blade size. I’m not a huge scandi grind guy but the blade is so thin it starts to feel like a full flat. Is there any way to strengthen the scandi grind some?

Adding a micro bevel or even a full-sized edge bevel will also strengthen the edge and will be fine for most work except wood carving.

Wood carving is the main reason I choose a Scandinavian grind when I do, so that is not my approach.

Vivi's suggestion is better if you want to use it for carving or whittling.
