For fans of the Sage 5 lightweight:

https://parsonsbladeworks.bigcartel.com/

They don’t pop up very often but they’re among the best aftermarket scales I’ve ever used. Tolerances are spot on and importantly, they include the Sage lw’s contouring…one of the most important aspects of its design.
I’d love to get my hands on a set of those curved fluted scales but since this maker hasn’t posted anything on IG since last May or so makes me sad that we might never see them again. Anyone have any info on whether another batch will be available at any point in the future? Thanks!
Seems like he doesn't post very often. I would try and message him. I have the smooth Titanium, and I wish I got the fluted. The smooth is too slick, so I did a DIY sandblast to add texture. Helped a lot, but I would definitely get the fluted next time. I can say these are extremely well designed. Larger access for the compression lock. The contours are amazing in hand, and the tolerances help tighten this thing up. The Sage as you know has a pivot bushing. That can cause a slight side to side blade play. These scales seem to take all of that away.

Thanks Jeff, I’ll reach out to him and see if there’ll be a 2024 release of them. I’ll let you all know if I hear anything! Fingers crossed.

AWT PM2 liner delete scales are a revelation in lightness and contouring. I'm really hoping they do the same for the Military2.

Image

Cuscadi does great custom work orders, like this recent burled red amboina they did for me

Image

I've always been impressed with Sharpdressed Knives, who will also do things to order if they are not in stock

Image

I'd be cautious with Etsy, but otherwise I've had a good experience from all of the ones I've ordered from.
Can someone please ID the knife in the second pic.

Hi everybody, I thought I'd post here that Parsons Bladeworks came out with a new set of aftermarket Ti scales –– this time for the Gayle Bradley 2! Similar to his "Ripple" pattern Sage 5 scales, these "Tread" GB2 scales have the same style of ribbing on them with a "spine" running down them that's actually a shallow groove to help with good purchase on the handle. Unlike the Sage 5 scales, these are "single liner-delete" in that he replaced the non-lock bar SS liner with an additional thickness of Ti to take its place. You still use the stock SS lockbar of course.

My only quibble is the set of clip screw holes for lefties on the front, but I get he wanted to appeal to the broadest audience possible. I like them a lot, and really like the match to the Sage 5 set, plus he also offers them as just smooth Ti with no fancy pattern milling. Interesting coincidence that Spyderco just discontinued the GB2 (unless there's a GB3 coming, that was a mistake IMHO), so this might be the stars aligning for anyone (like me!) that thinks these look pretty cool. Plus, a Ti GB2, that's not a tough sale at all for me just saying those two words together! Have a nice weekend, Radioactive

@RadioactiveSpyder Thanks for posting. Nice to see the GB2 getting some Ti love, even if the timing is a bit off.

Is there any better access to the lock bar? Do you have a picture from the back showing the "single liner-delete" and the "additional thickness of Ti"?

Looks great! Do you have a scale to weigh that Ti GB2? Can we get a top down pic showing the scale? curious how they handled with the liners being proud of the original scales. Looks like they kept it slightly proud and mimicked that with the machined Ti only side?
