SLIPIT Dragonfly Salt?

#1

Post by JoviAl »

I was just weighing up my options for a UK legal hiking pocket knife for doing general stuff with (read - ‘wanting to buy myself another Spyderco’) and was covetously eyeing up the SLIPIT Lil Native. It occurred to me that the dragonfly (one of my all time favourite Spyderco knives) would make a magnificent little backup/IWB/woods knife - lovely grippy bi-directional frn and a salt H2 SE blade 🤤 YES PLEASE!

Any folk from the UK or further afield that this might appeal to?

I am always going to want another slipit option.

I’d like a delica slipit too!

I really tried to love my H1 SE but I think I can't love spiky serrations, I'll try to reprofile with CBN rods later on.

But any Dragonfly with leaf blade shape would interest me if it was a slipjoint, as much as locking :)
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

I have found with all of my H1 and H2 SE knives that putting them on a fixed angle system and grinding off a load of the lumpiness (not sure if that’s the right word 🤔) from the ground side of the serrations really improves the cutting performance. In the pic the dragonfly has been done but the new Stretch XL Salt hasn’t yet. I’ve done a more pronounced version on my Caribbean SE at work, but I don’t have it to hand to photograph.

Thanks for sharing your trick ! That would sure be faster than using the sharpmaker with the CBN rods... And I've seen plenty of serrations with these flats spots on custom knives, people seemed to still appreciate their performance.
Gives me 2 options to choose from :)

To be honest I would have done the adjustment on a low grit bench stone if I had had one to hand. The flat sides of the CBN rods would probs work fine too.

Bonne chance whatever you end up doing! I hope it works out for you 👍🏻

I’d just accept the lock and pick a knife from the ukpk line.
