A calypso 3.5, not a Caly, but think like the Calypso jr., designed into a 3.5” blade knife.
With an arched shaped stainless steel bolster like many of the moki made spyderco folders have. Black micarta on Full liners and a ringed lanyard hole.

I'd love to see a standard G10 or smooth FRN Chaparral; I'd also love to see the next Chaparral with unique scales.

Re-release of the Nirvana would be cool too.

In general I'd like to see fewer choils, more cutting edge packed into handles, and MagnaCut making its appearance on Seki models. At the moment if you want to try MagnaCut you have to go to Golden models which all seem to have choils and short edges...

In terms of specifics I like SchoonerBum's suggestion very much:

Getting back to generalities, the seemingly endless iterations of existing models (different colours, similar steels etc) leave me cold. I get that they're a cheap way of offering something semi-novel but they are no substitute for genuinely innovative products. But perhaps the folding knife industry is approaching maturity, meaning future innovation will be incremental rather than revolutionary? It would be sad if so but maybe there are only so many different ways a piece of steel that pivots into a handle can be configured.

A modern field / travel sharpener similar to the Fold a Vee. The Fold a Vee was designed by Sal, then was sold to Lanksy, and is now discontinued. There remains no real field / travel V sharpener on the market since:

Have you tried the Mantra?
https://www.knifehub.com/product-page/s ... ck-c233cfp
No - not yet. It is a discontinued model, so when checking flippers on Spyderco's website, it did not come up. And when going through ALL of the knives at BladeHQ, SMKW, and a few others, it also did not come up as something available.

One of the reasons I said no 3" flippers "currently" is because I never know what they may have done while I wasn't looking. And obviously several different knives came out in the years I wasn't looking. Also, apparently there are no 3" flippers currently being manufactured by Spyderco per their website. So I still stand by my desire to see a 3" flipper join their offerings.

So many thanks for providing a link to one on a site I don't always check, but probably should. It will soon be in the stable to try. Not that I wouldn't want a different one should Spyderco offer one. :cheap-sunglasses

I don't know if we'll see a new flipper design. Spyderco has had trouble dialing in the detent on flippers. That, and the flipper tab protrudes into the lock bar access on compression lock knives.

How do you feel about front flippers like the Ikuchi and Smock?

Neither of those really fit my style. A guard similar to the Stretch would be sufficient. Actually, would love to see more curved blades like that instead of everything being a leaf, a cleaver, or some tanto iteration.

Have never used the rolling dial on the Ichuki, but it could probably work with the right guard.

For me … at this show so much other of interest that knives take a back seat !

Maybe a .44 caliber Delica 4 ….. :winking-tongue

There has been much talk on the forum about a Native that lands between the Native 5 and the Native Chief which I think is a fantastic idea. I’m hopeful it comes to fruition … Shot Show this year? I will call it the “Lil Native Chief” or the “Lil Chief”. Think I like “Lil Chief”!

2023 saw some new offerings in chronographs that brought simplicity of use in a small package to the consumer. Hope to see more companies on board with this and prices coming down, and gen 2 development in process that builds upon gen 1 but with extremely tight accuracy tolerance …. Plus or minus 1 fps.

I'd be stoked to see the production Crucarta Millie 2. Also the new Bodacious, especially a Crucarta model.

Wildcard: Crucarta Gayle Bradley 2.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
