Another mini collection complete!

#1

Post by DutchBlades »

I just wanted to share a recently completed mini collection here :)
I've loved the Dodo since I first saw it, and managed to pick up the carbon fiber Dodo after it's release.
The orange and blue version followed suit in the following years, and the recent M4 exclusive was obtained with some help from fellow forum members.

The original black G10 Dodo in eluded me for a long time.
The Dodo's aren't really carried, so I wanted a mint condition one (which isn't easy 20 years after it's release...).
But, it's here at long last! :grin-smiling-eyes

And of course, a group photo of the flock!

Thanks! :smlling-eyes
It's definitely a love it or hate it kind of design, but it really clicked for me.
I doubt there will be more renditions of the Dodo, but I was already surprised with the M4's announcement!

Congrats to DutchBlades!
I remember the time I saw a Dodo for the very first time - Dodo(s) awaken emotions :smiling-hearts

I wouldn't mind a St. Nicks exclusive with red G10 and a black blade... :smiling-halo

Thanks! Such a shame it never really caught on, but I have to admit I get it...
Pretty controversial design that has raised some eyebrows which probably hurt sales a bit.
The M4 version sold out in no-time though, so there's definitely a market for them :smiling-cheeks

Very nice. I've been working on the REC Exclusive "Avacados". Just added the PM2 yesterday. Only a few left to go.

Those are very unique looking and quite the collection you have for sure. The one thing that looks hard for me if I had one, is how to sharpen that beast.

I guess I would need to get the Spyderco cbn rods or sticks, whatever you guys call them. I got 3" x 8" diamond stones here and four different grinds.

I also have the worksharp professional which still has
1" x 6" stones which would still be to wide to follow the blade profile that beast has. But man what a neat looking knife...
