Re-anodized my Knifejoy SpydieChef!

My Knifejoy exclusive chef was starting to darken up and lose it’s nice blue color. From everything I’ve read anodizing on titanium isn’t very sturdy and wears off and scratches easily. Also through looking around I found out how crazy easy and cheap it is to anodize titanium so I got all the stuff I needed, tore the knife apart and did it. I think it came out beautiful and it’s the nice bright blue like they came from Knifejoy. I included some before pictures as well so you can see the difference.

Looks fantastic! Dare I say better than the Knifejoy original? I have one as well (NIB), and the colors look much more vibrant on the reanno. Looking forward to learning more about the process as well...

Yes you can anodize any titanium. Before I did mine I actual acid etched it to remove ALL the old anodizing and took it back to bare titanium.

How does one anodize?

It’s SUPER easy and pretty cheap. I watched several videos but this was the easiest one to follow and understand and read the most budget friendly because it just uses 9V batteries linked together. The only thing I did that’s not in this video was I dunked it in hydrofluoric acid (whink rust remover) to remove all the old anodizing and to etch the surface which I’ve seen some say lets it take a little better anodizing. But I bought the titanium straw, titanium wire, whink rust remover (HF acid), alligator clips and the pack of 9V batteries from Amazon for around $35. And thank you all for the compliments. I’m super happy with it! I know it’ll just wear and scratch up again because I LOVE this thing and carry it and use it every day but I’m 10-15 minutes I can have it looking just like this again. That’s the best part.
