Funny thing is: They call it a compression lock knife there (at least in the headline)... :thinking

Been heavily considering pulling the trigger on one of the GP exclusives. Seeing these starting to make their way out though makes me think I should just be patient for a few more weeks.

I'll duck and run right after posting this ;) ...

... But personally I'd actually prefer a green handled LC200 N version over this Magnacut one (the "Salts" of Native 5, Chief and UKPK do offer variants in both steels).
Did not try Magnacut yet, but I am sure LC will be even quicker and easier to sharpen and just by its specs has an even higher toughness, which could translate in that it could take a more acute edge angle.

Keep in mind: I am saying this when specifically thinking about buying a second Manix 2 LW as a companion or alternative to my REX 45 version.

Well, good. You went through the effort of making that avatar, Im glad you have yours reserved. I find it odd that some stores are selling the new reveals while they still aren't available through spyderco website. Is this par for the course? I mean, Im still fairly new to spyderco...

To me it actually makes sense and speaks for Spyderco that they work together well with good dealers and prioritize that those can sell their products (or deliver new products to those dealers first rather then keeping and selling them themselves, when there are not too many pieces available yet).

A bit like knife stores offer Spyderco products for less money than their own site.

this manix was available on spyderco's site briefly, but sold out. they likely kept less in stock than they sent out to each of the big dealers because they sell more knives through the retailers. they will restock though.

Whoever gets theirs in hand first, please check if it has phosphor bronze washers and the figure 8 shaped liner around the pivot. Thanks!

I am just now, at this moment, on December 25th, 2023, as I wait for my Thursday delivery. Finding it odd, that are we really getting a black clip and hardware, on this satin bladed version?

I have to think that it's at least possible, that the only picture being used online by Dealers, which was provided by Spyderco, was actually a computer generated/ Photoshop image created long ago, and done at a time when the hardware wasn't really being thought about. At a time when they were much more concerned about marching forward with more testing of heat-treat protocols, for Dr. Larrin's MagnaCut steel.

I do remember seeing Eric carrying an early prototype about* a year ago, but don't remember if it had black hardware or not?

Has anyone here actually seen one at a recent show, or? :thinking

Merry Christmas everyone!

they do that with all of the salts now to reduce corrosion of the hardware.
