Lord! You are behind this one too! :rofl
What other grand ideas do you have for threads? They seem to last a bit.

This one today working from home. I really like the barlow pattern.

Also, if you like this pattern, but want something more modern, Jack Wolves Knives released the After Hours Jack last week. Get them while you can. Modern take on traditional. These things are incredibly machined. Early this year, I got to meet Ben the owner at Blade Show. I asked if they were planning on releasing more locking models and he said yes. This was the exact pattern I was hoping for. Unfortunately, they are hitting at Christmas time so I will be missing out. But if you are on the fence about these or haven't looked them up I would encourage you to do so. These are incredible, and I do not think you will be disappointed. On a positive, they can be spyder flicked to open. :winking-tongue

Quiet Carry Waypoint LC, it’s a beast…here it is next to the Zaan and Inkosi…might even be Vivi approved 😉
Awsome looking knife! I got the regular version and very curious about the LC version.
It’s a completely different knife. Much, muchhhhh different than the original waypoint. Very thick liners and handles, but feels incredible to grab a hold of. I’d say it’s like a premium “beater” knife that will last a lifetime 💪

One of their knives caught my eye recently....maybe the drift XL? They look well put together. I hear nothing but good things about QC.
There’s a Drift L (large) and an LC (large contoured) and they’re awesome too…I basically have next to zero complaints about Quiet Carry, it’s one of those companies you just have to try out to really experience how amazing the quality is on every model they offer 👊

3V SRK. Quite a beast for $80. Very good value.

As you'll see in the photos it's not 100% the same as the SK5 runs.

- Flat saber grind instead of hollow saber grind
- As a result it has a more robust tip
- Also slightly heavier and more forward balanced, giving it a bit more chopping ability
- Uncoated from factory
- As a result, spine is sharp enough to scrape easy to spark fuzz from a branch, and works wonderfully on ferro rods
- Swedge comes to an edge. It isn't sharp enough to slice thin rope, but it'd take little work to get it there. Might hit mine with the belt sander to flatten it a bit so it doesn't chew up batons so much. This will be a woods knife for me, not a fighter
- Colored sheath. Pretty cool touch, all the colored SRK's in SK5 come in black sheaths.
- Different shade of green. I don't have my OD green SK5 on me to compare, but this Olive Green is a darker, more earthy looking shade of green.

Very pleased with it so far. Was hesitant to order one knowing the SK5 version works great for me and is 1/3 the price, but the different grind means it's a stronger blade, and being uncoated with a sharp spine out of the box saves me some work over the SK5 runs.

I'm excited to test it out further. Hard to believe it but this is my first 3V knife I've used. Always heard it's one of the top tier steels.
Now that’s a knife just begging to be used and I really like uncoated blades more…the sheath/clip is dope…that grip looks super grippy too 💪👊

Great color.

I'll be interested to hear what you make of 3V. I've only used it in my bark rivers, and what I notice is that it's able to hold a very sharp edge through fairly rough use. Also reals easy to strop back to sharp. Of course, those are convex ground knives, and I'm not sure how much of this experience is just due to that grind.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

When I ordered my cold steel folders I grabbed this one. Action was kind of gritty so I hadn't carried it much. Finally got around to breaking it down, cleaning it, polishing the lock bar, lubing it up well and putting it back together. Very smooth now.

Next step is putting a thinner bevel on it, but I've gotta say the factory edge is more impressive on this one than the other CS folders I bought. Ground thinner than 20dps instead of thicker like the sr1 and 4 max scout. Gave it a couple passes on the fine rods and it's aggressively catching arm hair without contacting my skin.
