Scales are amazing . Dan
I agree! Great product from RC Bladeworks.

I never carried this knife before replacing the scales, and now it's almost daily. I lightly oiled the pivot, and now you can see where the scales are darkened slightly. I'm trying to decide whether to lightly oil the whole thing, or just let it age on its own. I'm always torn with micarta...

I really think there is no right or wrong with Micarta . What works for you is all that matters .I have thought of getting another Chap just to put Micarta scales on one . MG2

PE or SE ? ;)

(One of these in SE actually is a must-have for me!)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Not in my pocket, but my wife's pocket. She sent this to me at work, and I was so proud.

You are a modern-day Odysseus, the captive slave of Calypso!
Thank you for the kind words!!! I think 🤔😆

Ha ha...OK, I was a bit abstruse, apologies. In Homer's Odyssey, the hero Odysseus becomes the love-slave of the nymph Calypso ("the hidden one") for seven years, representing a major delay while attempting to return from the Trojan war to Greece. Calypso offers Odysseus eternal life if he will stay with her, but he wants to go home to his human wife instead. Calypso is forced by the gods to let Odysseus go.

But, as a consolation prize, the gods promise Calypso that she will be worshipped by thousands for inspiring one of the best Spyderco knives ever.

Very nice!!

So glad you made the Stretch XL salt not an ffg MC or LC version, but sabre hollow ground H2!

Just cause this, especially in the amazing H1/H2 serrations and with its stronger tip and stouter blade will make a perfect hard use / beater partner for the very slicey VG 10 ffg Stretch XL!

Really a true case where there is no decision to be made, but one definitely "needs both" ;)

No apologies needed bolster, I knew you meant all good intent. I was just jokingly admitting to knowing very very little about Greek mythology. But as a music fan, I’ve always associated Sal’s calypso with a style of carribean music - calypso
